Open Fire!

Open Fire seems like nothing really when sailing, but when you put points in it... oh boy. When you press 'open fire' and shoot your broadsides, the life of the enemy goes down quickly! :dancetl6:And it shoots out bright cannons, sort of like fire but dimmer.

I have only 1 point in Open Fire!

I can take any ship level 15, and lower down with a single broadside using it if I hit with all cannonballs. I love this skill, and many think its useless, but it generally doubles if not multiply further the damage my broadsides will do. It also effects my crewmen shooting cannon balls. And it makes my cannonballs look neat too (almost like lightning).

open fire

ya i like it to i killed the golith in one side with open fire its awsome:piratear:

I used to use it, but don't anymore. A couple updates ago a new bug was introduced with it. Now when I use it I no longer get the damage meter for the ship I'm attacking. At least that is what it is in my case.

I will be happy to use it again is they decide to it

I actually thought that Open Fire was useless and was almost not going to put a point into it because i don't sail with crews to often. But, i decided to test it out, and now, Open Fire is my best friend when it comes down to multiple ships attacking me and desperate times in SvS :)

Open fire is always good if youre going against a tough ship, it makes the damage better. Like for a broadside, or if anyone is using a cannon, it increases the damage you cause

I always put at least 1 point on every skill just in case it might be improved in the future i already have it.

OPEN fire rocks!

SwashII and mtself were using Open Fire last night - and we'd take the Flag Clolssus in one Volley! It is a REALLY cool skill if used correctly (and the fireballs are wicked! LOL :D )

Prior to the SvS release, "open fire" really DID do nothing at all. That is why I hated the wasted skill point. Only in the last month, has the order had any tangible effect.

Seeing how these things go, I hereby predict that they will add some sort of skill-point-reallocation quest right around the same time they change "treasure sense" to actually start working.

This is one of my favorite skills.
I use it on level twenty five ships to watch their HP go down one third to half.
I can sink a level twenty ship in one shot if all my cannons hit the ship.
And if you have a crew it's even better.

When i'm in SvS I use it a lot.

Actually, I've found Open Fire to be very useful. Everytime I'm sailing behind Padres, I'm usually taking down Colossus's and Corsairs with one broardside. (with only 1 skill point too) :D

Treasure sense definately used to work. My pirate with a single point on it brings in larger hauls than my pirate with none, and my pirate with 5 points in it, well hes a treasure hound for sure. I dont think these points though are worth it as gold can be obtained by other means in plentiful quantities.

Ive always had success with Open Fire! Until recently the additional graphics reflecting it was working were not in place (but neither were any grenade throwing enemies.. and they still killed us). I have found that Open Fire has always generally doubled the damage my broadside would do. I've never experienced it appear to be totally useless. Honestly the only one i've ever witnessed appear to be useless, is the now apparently useless Windcatcher.

Wind catcher?
Do you mean they added in a chase of wind pushing the cannon amo in another direction?
If not I don't know what your talknig about.
Treasure sense did work for me too. I used to get five royal chests every time I went out sailing. Now it seems i'll get 2-4 if i'm lucky.
Hopefully they'll fix that with a new update.
