It is finally here. Sony just released the beta this month and is accepting users to join. To do this, goto the playstation store from your ps3 and download the theme. This will send out an application. I can't wait for this:)

Later today, the PLAYSTATION Store will be updated with a PlayStation Home theme. By downloading the theme, users are submitting an application to join the PlayStation Home Beta test community. We will be using a variety of criteria including activity on the PLAYSTATION Network to determine eligibility for the Beta community. Existing beta testers have automatically qualified to be part of the expanded beta.

We’re really excited about this milestone and want our most loyal fans to be a part of the evolution of PlayStation Home.

In Europe, SCEE is also beginning their expanded closed beta, directly targeting consumers who have been most active on PLAYSTATION Network and PLAYSTATION Store. SCEE will be in email contact with their PSN audience very shortly.

Wow that looks cool see now everyone is going MMO gaming. I wonder how microsoft will respond I know that sometime in october i think Microsoft is going to have a XBOX360 over haul where they will add tons of new features and one of them is where you can make your own little avatar.

to get this, you have to have a ps3 and download the theme. then you are registered to get the beta. you must have the ps3 online at all times. as for 360, they ripped it off from ps3 like they do with all the sony products. ps3 came with blu ray then 360 came out with a cheap rip off player.

The 'world' and the peeps in it looks really good though... great graphics...

Never was a game console user.
Thier growing popularity has actually cramped my style.
Several of my favorite PC game titles have been discontinued, only to continue on in PS3/XBOX, etc versions.

Oh well, they do some cool stuff, and now they are even getting into online communities and stuff. Compute by joystick.. hehe (im sure they have keyboards etc as well for that matter).

Did you Know that the first pong game was made a out of a radar when a navy guy got bore. true story

Eh, going by the criteria they're choosing testers from, I won't be accepted even if I apply. I haven't been on the PSN much lately except to browse the arcade, or maybe play some CoD4. I'll just wait until it's released.
