What is Salvage?

When I sink a ship I get like 300, 3000 salvage what is that? I just started seeing that today.

I started seeing it awhile back. Just in privateering mode because I haven't really sailed out of privateering in awhile...but I think that's the only place it is. I'm pretty sure that it's the amount of 'wood' you and your crew were able to salvage from the ship you just sunk...and you repair your boat with it. So basically, if it says you salvaged 2,400...then your ship's hull health will go up by 2,400.

Please inform me if I'm wrong.

The green numbers saying how much you salvaged is fairly new...maybe a week old now. But getting the hull points is not...that was there on day one, of SvS.

Yea the hull points yes but salvage i wonder did they limit the amount you can repair if yes then YES! because that means you must fight to repair :D thanks disney!

If I understand Ed correctly, nothing is new, except now you see the numbers representing the health a ship gained when it sinks another. Representing it as a Salvage #

(probably decided people needed an explanation for health going UP during a battle, and lower the number of GLITCHER!!!!! fingers being pointed)

Exactly. But what I say is not authoritative - it is only based on my observations in SvS. Ships definitely were getting the hull points the same way before and after they added the little green message saying how many points they got.

Without a doubt!

I like seeing the salvage number. Along with the gold reward and points, it is just fun to see how much the ship you sank was worth.
