A few questions still unanswered....
 

Hi everybody, I have been playing since beta days and there are still a few things in the game I don't understand and was hoping someone could clear them up.

1. Why are some players names blue, others and gray, and very few are gold?

2. Is there parental controls that stop other from talking or me from hearing them? because I often see players that send me a friend request crew request and then dont talk the entire time im with them and dont respond to anything i say. Why is that?

Answer 1.
Gray = Basic Account Pirate
Blue = Unlimited Account Pirate
Gold/Gold coing = Founder Pirate (signed up with original promotion)

Answer 2.
Some pirates are under parental control limiting them from seeing varied levels of chat. A pirate under parental or age restrictions may be limited thusly..
1. May be able to open chat normally like I assume you can.
2. May be able to only see chat that is sent using the [+] setting as it is more restrictive open chat.
3. May be able to only see speedchat, and not view anything directly typed by other pirates.

I do not know the level of which this is applied to "whispers" but I assume the rules are basically the same.

The last part about why people attempt to friend? Well I assume myself that these pirates are often restricted as mentioned in item 3, but may just be unresponsive as #2.

I dont friend pirates that cant talk, sorry.. its just too frustrating, i cant help them, they cant help me. :)

1) Grey are free members, Blue are Paying members, Gold are paying Founder Members who paid between the Games Start Date of October 31st, 2007 and December 2nd, 2007

2) Yes, check to see if the box beside you chat skull (when you open your chat box) hasa + sign in it - this means you have parental controls turned on for chat. Others who have this on cannot read adult message, and if you have it on you will not receive them.

lol. good questions! ;) i hear that stuff all the time and get friend requests like that all the time. in fact, this one guy could actually talk...and when i said hello he said "nobody ever says hello anymore,barely a wassup, so say soup" LOL
