Vista?

I apologize if I've posted this in the wrong forum...

I'm quite close to ordering a new "gaming" laptop, but before I bite the bullet, I'd like to know if POTC works with Vista. I was reading a little about how Toontown kind of does/kind of doesn't work with Vista yet....is it the same deal here? Or does it not work at all...or work fine...you get my point. Does anyone have any (simple and helpful) comments on the subject? Thanks so much!

Works perfectly with Vista, but make sure you at LEAST have 1gb ram and a good dedicated video card in the laptop.

Excellent!

So glad you posted--makes me feel better about my decision to go ahead and buy a new laptop (with Vista)! In fact, it was shipped today...I can't wait!!!

Memory: 2GB, DDR2, 667MHz 2 Dimm, for Inspiron 9400,E1705

Video Card: 256MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS, for Inspiron 9400/E1705

This should be good...from what I understand...much better than my current laptop! Apparently the video card is one of the "high end" ones...sounds good to me. (And yes, I do know that laptops can only go so high end...as opposed to the limitless space in a desktop...but I'm excited nonetheless.)

I'm anxious. :D

Hmm, I thought about getting a notebook.
But then I thought about getting another
desktop, because it has more space, or
whatever. But a notebook is nice because
you can carry it everywhere. Hmm...

Just make sure your notebooks screen
is not that huge, because the screen is
what eats most of the battery life.

When all the bugs have gone in PiratesOnline then this laptop will run it flawlessly.

Haha! Too late for that! I got a whopping 17 incher...17 inch UltraSharp TrueLife Wide-screen WUXGA...I've been told that the resolution rocks. Yeah...I use my notebook much more like a desktop--it pretty much stays in the same spot, plugged in, at all times. Yet, when I do travel, I like to bring it with me. I'm so used to having the option to bring my computer with me (on trips--not everyday), that I can't imagine having a desktop. (This will actually only be my 3rd computer; the other 2 were also notebooks.) I'll tell ya all about it as soon as it arrives! Well....after I get it set up, that is! (Which, I'm praying, won't involve hours of frustration and tears...everything please work...)

My next laptop will be a 17" with a 7950GTX 2gb ram and a 100gb 7200rpm drive.

1920x1600 res.

But its my main pc.

It's here!

WOW! My computer shipped yesterday...and was here this morning at 9:30. I'm on it right now! I'm downloading POTC as we speak--no troubles whatsoever so far. Toontown was a little bit tricky with Vista, but I just followed the instructions they give in their FAQ section, and it works wonderfully. I'm excited!!!
