hmm, i use AVG. and from what a friend tells me... vista and norton together wont let you play pirates for some strange reason. I would reccomend AVG

sunnysweeney 08-17-2008 06:45 AM

ok i will try them. yeah it took me 30 mins to get pirates to work on vista cuz i did a clean install and there were 60 updates lol. plus i can't seem to get the screen size to work in pirates. it would crash and so i sent 7 bug reports to disney lol. let me test my screen shots

I use Symantec Antivirus and i use VISTA works fine plus like windows defener you can set it to scan for viruses when your computer is off or at like 3 am in the morning as not to interrupt your computer time.

Idk if the crash problem u have is like mine i run VISTA and EVERY time i log out the game crashes and i get like 4 messages ive just learned to deal with it and press all the buttons until someone says just do this O_o.

I use Mojave and Symantec also (oh Mohave is Vista... if anyone has had a chance to laugh at the latest series of Microsoft commercials yet).

9 times out of 10, end users blame the wrong products on thier systems for thier problems.

They blame everything on the video drivers, but thats likely because its frequently something people dont update. In this case if there are more up to date drivers.. they are probably right.. 2006? hehe

Although I know my laptops drivers have a similar date, and there are NO updates for it.

Hope that fixes the problem up for ya!

My Dell laptop has an Nvidia GeForce GO 6800 card, and the most recent driver for that card is dated 04/12/06.

sunnysweeney 08-17-2008 08:18 PM

yeah it's all bull cuz when i updated my video drivers, the game was lagging worst and then crashed. so yeah who knows what they are thinking.
