the gibbs navy guard quest
 

Well in the game told me to defeat 8 navy guards and I did, but after that nothing happens when i talk to him. Anyone have this problem?

You needed to accept both quests from Gibbs, defeat 8 navy guards and sink 2 ships.

I have a stupid question how do you sink ships

You need to Purchase a ship from the Boatwright on the beach or join someones crew. The you man the Cannons and BLAST! away at any navy ship you encounter.

they have to be Navy ships for that one quest.

i think u must have athe same issue i have right now I did both parts for gibbs went back and he just said hi.. my journal says complete and to speak with him. but nothing happens. I saw a red labeled DEV running around the other night and he told me that my pirate might be bugged since those quests were part of a difernt build.. so if Gibbs wont talk to anyone else u might have to scrap your toon and start over if u want to keep the story line going..

oh... well starting over may not be so bad

That is exactly what happend to my first Character ,could not advance in the quest. I started over again, making sure to accept both challenges from Gibbs at the same time with my new character and no problems so far.

I don't have experiance with this since I haven't actually played the game yet, but I would suggest sending a bug report. Maybe a couple photos as well.
