Green circles on Navy ships
 

What are those green circles on some of the Navy ships? I've tried to shoot cannon ball through them but nothing happens lol

When you see the circles, it means you can use your grappling hook, on the ship. Select your grappling hook from the cannon, by holding down right mouse button and selecting it. Then aim your grappling hook at one of the circles and try to get your grappling hook to land closer to them.

It will hold on to the ship and you can then go to the edge of the ship and the following text should appear: "Hit Ctrl to board enemy ship". You will then swing on a rope over to the enemy ship. Most times tere are enemies on the ships. If they are high lvl's, you might have a quick death. :D

Are all ships boardable? I've tried to use the grappling hook to get onto a boat, but I can never get it to hold on.

The only time I have gotten the grappling hook to work is when the green circles were there. And only once or twice have I been able to actually board the other ship.

no circles means you cant use the hooks. if there are circles, you can't sink the ship by additional cannon fire

but i have NO clue why sometimes the circles for the hooks appear and sometimes they dont!

Then how do you sink them? By boarding the ship and getting the cadets?

i don't know. boarding is so buggy with weird pathing issues on deck and things like that i don't bother trying to board them anymore.

guess it's been awhile and i should try again tho!

no its still is a mess.. I had better luck sailing up to a ship then jumping overboard swiming to the navy ship borad that way take out eh crew jump off get back on my ship then sink it.. I am sure thast one of the future builds will be a ship fix and we will proly allg et free super ships or somethig to test out everything.. beta is so much fun :-) just think we are getting all this knowledge know and when they erase the game and release it it will be easier for us to start playing

I've been able to board the ship using my grappling hooks and and the green circles. Once I killed all of the enemy crew, the ship sank, and then i had to swim back to my ship.
