It has happened to me more recenlty now and its really annoying.

This is usually a sign of a lack of system resources. The game is failing to load the textures. A restart of the system probably clear it right up.

Lol, that's funny. AND, in case you didn't notice, it's on the beach, in August(as mentioned above). It's like seeing snow in the Florida Keys...NEVER! LOL, I like the pic! :laughks2:

I tried restarting it several times but and happened today in the morning.
1 sec checking now.
Oh yeah this only happened to me at PR.
Any ideas to fix it?

Really doubt its my card because it is still good and Just started like THAT.

If its happening frequently and with no changes to your configuration I would probably question the videocard, as its failing to load the textures.

Its hard to say.

Try deleting your game_options.txt file in the pirates folder, maybe some settings in there are messing it up, might help.

You may be right, but I question your logic.
I have clients that call me constantly with computer problems (thats my job).
The number one primary reason I am given for it not possibly being a hardware issue is, "It worked yesterday".
To which I answer, "Well, it wasnt broken yesterday".
A high percentage of these times, it is actually broken, but not always!

Things go bad, if its causing video corruption (may or may not be cause) then its not "still good" ;)

The first time you started the game, it did not exist.

Its generated when you change settings in the Options menu. (ie video, etc)

Ive heard of at least one instance where this file ended up with some bogus settings, and deleting it solved them.

If you have any special settings you make in options, you will need to make them again once you delete the game_options.txt file.

If it would make you more comfortable, try simply renaming it and if you have problems you can rename it back.
