I have messed up Am, any suggestions?

Alright, so I have completely messed up Amiela's weapons.
With a mastered doll, a level 17 cutlass, lvl 9 gun, lvl 7 nades, level 8 dagger, and a level away from getting the staff, im basically done for.
Are there any suggestions to level up my low weapons?

Oh and PS: Im STILL having issues going into jungles, swamps, caves, ect.
Im gonna try to contact POTCO again and get the problem fixed. I can't even get my new player, Beau Feroce, past level one because I cannot go into Kings Run for Tia Dalma.

Thanks.

As long as they're within about 5/6 levels of eachother, you shouldn't be too bad. You can easily catch up those few.

As for your issues Ameila.
Stop using your doll lol. & leave your cutlass for a bit too.
This calls for desperate measures, if I were you I'd find a quiet server, make your way to Kingshead, glitch, & try levelling up your Grenades on the football team (the 6/7 veterans out on the 'field in front of the fort), change the view using the right mouse button to looking down, & throw the Nades at your feet, not only will you get lotsa rep. but you'll get a lot of gold too. Also work on your dagger on assassins, mercenaries & high level officers at Kingshead, & because you're glitched, you can't be killed.
As for the pistol, why not take that to El Suduron or Padres Beach, take on a few of the gypsies, raiders, grenadiers, just shoot everything & anything.
If you can't get there, try Perdida, Cangrejos or Cutthroat, or if you want a challenge, take a friend & a whole lot of tonics & head to Tormenta ;)

It will take a long time, but you can recover the situation if you work hard at getting these weapons levelled up, & don't use your doll, cutlass, or voodoo staff (when you get it) for a while, until you have your other weapons at sensible levels.

=]

I had issues with my dagger & pistol, but I've sort of recovered, all of my weapons are at similar levels now.
Good luck

I would go to tortuga in the cave you can find a giant crab, huge alligator, a few big alligators. Use lead shot and build up your pistol with a lot of shots.

After getting pistol built up, with hex shot, aim, accuracy, you can start using that on gypsies, brinescum, molusk, to build other weapons in the same way, a lot of little hits.

If you are using xp, go into display and turn down you acceleration, and write combining off, most times I have seen that fix the problems in going into jungles etc.

Mmm I don't understand how you can mess up?? I'm lvl 35, my dagger is lvl 10, nade's are 1...I'm THANKFUL that I still have weapons that give me 100+rep each kill...all my other weapons give me like 20pts max now, if I'm lucky =( On, average, I get like 4pts each kill using my lvl 19 & higher weapons, it's so sad. I mean esp, when as high lvl as I am, almost everything is green lvled to me (or worse, grey!), but once I switch to my lower weapons, they are red-leveled to me, so 100+rep each kill is what I get. It's all about knowing how to lvl correctly to be able to get 100+rep each kill. You're probably using ur most powerful form of attack, so they die too fast. You get tons of rep depending on the # of times u hit it...

Edit: Definitely take a look at this: http://www.piratesonlineforums.com/f...ead.php?t=6926 since u seem to be having trouble with getting a lot of rep for each kill. And this one too: http://www.freewebs.com/longshotxx/potco/potco.htm look under "Max Rep"

yeah the only reason i use take aim with the pistol is if i have a quest and i need to get a head start and do it quickly.

Actually, you cant.

What you can do, is make it 'harder' to level the other weapons, but really only marginally. Notoriety is one factor that effects how much damage your attacks do, and therefore can effect the number of reps you frequently rewarded, however the weapon level itself plays actually a larger role. So low level weapons should still be able to get decent rep rewards comparably to if they had been done by the pirate at lower levels of notoriety.

A pirate concentrating on only 1 or 2 weapons, doesnt really mess themselves up, they just use the easier 'lower notoriety' reps on two weapons.

In reality it all evens out if you intend on fully mastering your pirate, and other than making one weapon harder to level than another was, it ends up making no difference when you look at the big picture.

And studying the documents you referenced could help pirates get the most reps out of thier battles.

Ok, whew, good...for a second there, I was like "ummm oh noes, what if I messed up, but I don't think I did, but now idk, yikes" lol. I mean I have friends that have about the same lvls for all their weapons, like lvl 20 for all of them, the most they get now is like 10-15 rep each kill, nothing like 100 rep that I'm getting.

The only thing I think you can really mess up is where you put your skill points, and that will vary by pirate preference all the time.

OK, I have to disagree, slightly. If you level up grenades LAST, you have indeed messed up. When you are lvl 40 trying to master grenades in Tormenta Cave, getting five points for each Molusk or Urchinfist killed (well, sometimes three or one or zero) you'll see that ANY other weapon would have been better to finish with. I know I didn't learn about the Kingshead invincible glitch until after I was fully mastered, but those assassins only go up to lvl 35, so they wouldn't help you anyhow. (One point each, only sometimes? Bah.)

If you plan on driving any boss battles, having rank five TOUGHNESS on grenades is pretty important. So, really, if you make an effort to master any weapon first, it should be grenades. But if you wait to master them LAST, it is positively a mistake.

Poison elf 08-03-2008 04:52 PM

If you are only getting 5 points rep in grenades in Tormenta, you are doing something wrong. Using wrong grenades, put points in grenades, or damage or something. The only trouble with grenades, is using smoke bombs, using these get rep. Only having 40, means a lot of trips.

To counter this some, you line up two or three Molusk at once, so when you use the smoke grenades, you are hitting 2/3 critters each time. Having a crew adds to this, and also gives you a means to get ammo and pop back.

Thanks for making my point. No you cannot screw it up, because although its HARDER its still POSSIBLE.

What your stating is a preference from experience designed to make everything easier. Still a preference, not a requirement.
Since its not REQUIRED, and can still be finished (albeit hard) its still not messed up.

Kretzge 08-03-2008 06:07 PM

Yeah i agee with zep though i always kept my characters weapons close togeather (see "Another Noobish Question")

Dr. Zeppers 08-03-2008 09:33 PM

I will agree with Edward on what the "best" approach towards grenades specifically.

Just dont want anyone thinking they are stuck if they do veer off the norm.

When I get grenades, the next two days im usually concentrating on getting them to at least lvl20 trying to "git'er done" so to speak. hehe
