How can you get general chat?
 

Ahoy! Could somebody explain how ye get general chat workin' on POTCO? Thank ye mateys!

As I understand it, you have to allow open chat thru the DXD menu. After that you can press the skeleton on the right hand side above your health meter to open the chat box, or press enter to open it but that has been logging people out.

Yes, just open the XD page: http://disney.go.com/dxd/ At the top right is the Log In. Use the same account name and password you use for Pirates. Click: My Stuff, Profiles/Settings, My Account, Community Settings.

After all that garbage, just click the skull above your health meter and it opens the dialog box and type what you want to say. I am still seeing alot of pirates say, "blah blah blah" and some I can see what they are saying.

I just went through all the steps again and now on my screen when I clcik "speak" it says I do not have open chat and I can change those prefs in the Pirate site which leads you to the DXD site. On that site it says the option isn't yet available.

I remember I used my VMK trial for toontown long ago and all I could use for that was speed chat (my account also said that I was under 13 at that time) I clicked on something that said something along the lines of "send message to parents asking permission for general chat" (on the toontown website) I never got back from that - But the system must have let me because I can talk in general chat now.

We tested the DXD chat system on ToonTown, it certainly isn't my favorite, but you can exhange codes there that enable you to chat within the game.
