Unbearable LAG!
 

Forgive me if there are threads addressing this issue--I'm new to this site, and I haven't had a chance to look through everything...

Is extreme lag a problem for other people? It takes me, for instance, about 5-10 minutes to walk from the door of the jail (exit) to the outside world. The farthest I've gotten in the game is defeating a skeleton (after several days of trying to just walk to one...). If I attempt to attack someone (or a crab), I just end up right back in the jail because I can't even swing my sword. It looks like an awesome game--but I want it to be playable! Does anyone have any brilliant suggestions?

Are you using Vista?

:mad: same problem here too... makes it real hard to get ahead in the game when you hear the swords hit you know you're getting slaughtered and can't do anything about it...then ya end up on the jail floor again. :confused:

I know!!! Talk about frustration! At least I know I'm not alone....not that I would wish this on anyone....but you know....

And no, I'm not using Vista. Just XP.

I've seen it mentioned in other posts to turn down the graphics options. After you log in, click on Options and at the top Graphics, set those to the lowest settings.

I have that horrid lag on my desktop but the game rocks on my laptop so if you have another computer in the house you may want to try playing on that one.

Even when the game's lagging, the ad still runs at full speed. :D

:confused: weird, but i don't get the ads no more...yesterday the game opened without the ads and i was able to open up to full screen... that was when i could get passed the "live the legend" screenshot. ....btw, when you get out of jail again whats the best way to run? I can't even get out of the prison yard without getting shot in the back and then ..... hahaha back on the cell floor again!! ARGGGGGGG! :eek:

Just barely step out the door then open your map and click on the island you want to go to. Even if you are in the jail on Port Royal you can teleport to the shores of Port Royal - hopefully you won't land in the skeletons.

OMG!! r u serious?? well, shiver me timbers, blimey heck and all that scurvy stuff i haven't had a clue about teleporting and all that! Thanks for the info.....wow there must be a lot of clicking going on that i'm not aware of ....and there really isnt much of a guide anywhere either....Thanky Mates! sure appreciate any help offered..happy pilfering swabs! :D

Same Problems here. But hey, this is a Betaversion! A Beta is here that Disney cann see this bugs to defeat them.

But one question. When i took the Graphik Settings all to low, its standing i must restart the game. When i have restared the game the same settings all on high... and when i go in the game the graphics are all high... hmm...

I drop my settings to low all the time and haven't had to restart the game yet?? but i believe the highest settings are just default for the beta...
