Ok get ready for this a huge BOMB of a glitch

Auto fix privateer ship believe it or not!

All you do is when your ship needs a fixin walk up to the fix spot and press shift as always but as soon as he starts to hammer away switch to a weapon instead of escape and the spot will stay blue and your free to do the next one which will speed up fixing rate!!!! "BELIEVE IT"!!!!! ITS TRUE.

I found this glitch the first hour that privateering started so your all welcome i let the cat out instead of keeping this a secret.

just dont hit esc at all while its running and most of the time you can man a cannon while its fixing but dont grab the wheel either or it stops unless you need to get out of dodge!!!!!

THE CAPT MAKES IT HAPEN

i would like to see a reply to this one hehehe!!!!!

Well I always appreciate people sharing glitchs they find.

Although some could be misused, and should be fixed.

This one probably would have been best submitted directly to the developers or to a known game tester, so it could be verified and appropriately reported/fixed.

This if overused could mess things up a bit.

Well, its out there now.

The more its abused, the faster it will be fixed... most likely.

This is not funny at all. My guild and I had this happen today and already turned it in to Tech along with the drivers name and ship name as posted on another thread. Are people that bad at this game they have to resort to cheating on another player. Go practice sailing then ship PVP fairly. Im not a young kid or gamer at all but have been kickin booty in the ship PVP no cheating involved. Great team work within the guild and Privateering team is what it takes. If I see this going on look out I will and our guild members will turn you in for it. One thing to glitch against NPCs or to fly in the sky but this is low.

captaindruidblade 07-31-2008 08:26 AM

not to say that your crew has been auto pvp ship fixing

am1974 07-31-2008 08:29 AM

Nope didnt even know about it till tonight. We where having fun playing the game fairly. If they sink us then they sink us when we sink them even better. We do not need to resort to cheating like that. Just sore losers have to cheat to win.

captaindruidblade 07-31-2008 08:33 AM

you dont have control of what your crew does we barely have control when someone takes the wheel without permision thats wrong to but hey big d made it where any person on your ship can grab the wheel

do you think thats fair?

am1974 07-31-2008 08:39 AM

Not fair but ways to prevent it now isnt their. You can also grab it back from them. I have great crews between friends and guild members so I do not have this problem.

I just tried this, and yeah, it works as described. But, this is not the glitch I've witnessed elsewhere. Sometimes, people can sail while repairing. They can be sustaining damage while still repairing. THOSE are the glitches that sway the game unfairly. The "glitch" you describe, still has to be done in the safety of a hiding spot, with the boat not only stationary, but with the wheel dangerously unmanned. Thanks. It is cute. But not the treacherous thing I see all too often.

Of course, if there is some legitimate circumstance where you actually should be able to sail and repair at the same time, big-D really should have announced it and described it. Maybe have a training quest for it. But I think a lot of people would be happier if the whole "repairs" thing were just removed - at least for SvS. I mean, what is the point? You just come back, at your base, anyhow. In regular game play, trying to finish off quests, is when you really need the ability to repair.

Thanks man thats exactly what i needed some positive reaction to what ive posted your awsome for being honest, and yes ive seen these ships sailing with sail up and fixing what the is going on?

ive even seen ships with no crews while i was flying taking people out i would like to see that go
the glitches ive listed are not harmful just dificult to do

if you take damage while you auto heal you go down anyway!

thanks for taking the attention off me ,im not the problem here and everyone knows it.

I think people are over reacting this stuff aint easy

davy redflint 07-31-2008 01:08 PM

are pirates fair i think not, they take advantage of anything they can. i dont see where this would give u any advantage, but it is just another glich of many. enjoy !

am1974 07-31-2008 03:55 PM

It is an advantage over others who do not use the cheat. As far as not being easy the guys who used it against us used it twice in less then 30 seconds. Twice we almost had them sunk and their hull health bounced up. Again are you that bad at taking out others that you have to resort to cheating. Be grown up and play fair. If you like this glitch so much then take it to a quiet server and play it with each other not on un suspecting people or those who choose to play fairly.

Rackat 07-31-2008 03:55 PM

If you were in my Guild, and I knew that you were cheating against other players, I would kick you out of the guild. If you want to do the KH glitch to level, that is one thing because you're not cheating anyone but yourself. But if you use a glitch against another player, then you are cheating yourself, them, and the other players involved.

It says one thing about you: you are a bad player that cannot win without cheating.

If you were good enough to win on your own, you wouldn't need to cheat.

Swash 07-31-2008 04:09 PM

This is not fair to other players imaine your a spanish ship you have and a french ship is chasing u. U have a speck of health and he has a little bit left you do that cheat and man a cannon and start shooting him with thunderbolt and he sunk and it said_______(spanish) sank the ___________(french)! but who really won there was the french ship cause hes nice enough not to cheat.

davy redflint 07-31-2008 04:50 PM

i dont use it but it doesnt bother me if any one else does, i just be a humble pirate enjoyin the game, just wish other could, and not complain about every thing that really take the fun out of it. i dont think if someone uses a glitch we should label them, because any one that glitches will have the same label. let just get along and enjoy playin.

here's what websters has to say

Main Entry: 1cheat
Pronunciation: \ˈchēt\
Function: verb
Etymology: 2cheat
Date: 1590
transitive verb
1: to deprive of something valuable by the use of deceit or fraud

so if your ships bounty is what i deem valuable (or i'm trying to complete a quest) and i can't sink you because of the use of in game bugs and glitches then by definition you are cheating.

do i care that people are taking advantage...in the grand scheme of things not really. after all i certainly can use the same bug/glitch if i want to because it is currently available to all players.

do I use the bug/glitches. No, because i take some level of pride in my abilty to be an accomplished sailor.

but, as previously stated, the only time i have found this behavoir annoying is when i'm trying to complete a quest or collect your bounty and then i am direclty affected.
