should u get new weopens for mastering a weapon

heres my idea
Sword: Flaming cutlass
Gun: Quad barrel gun
doll: freeze skill when attuned freezes the enemy for ten seconds ( unless you use scorch )
dagger: Flaming dagger
Nades: creates an area and anyone in the area automaticaly dies
Staff: lightning charge lightning on the staff shoots lightning

cannon: unlimited ammo on ammo of choice

Ship: choose to get a ship in the same class as dutchman or pearl

Your entire Pirate: a jolly roger flag on your ship or an eyepatch or a Pirate Lord rating ( just at the top of my head )

i think these awards would be great even if we had to do a quest to earn them or buy them i would be happy

No. If anything, there should be a leadership-like skill for mastering an item. However, weapons are some of the last things needing more updates.

why new weapons = more fun

erm... then there would be a whole bunch of dutchman or pearls hoing around stealing rep that they wont get anyway 'cause thier ship is so huge and they mastered sailing and probably has the gold cap! i agree with league. i'll add that in my updates that if you master something you should get a leadership-type skill.

well i think he means there could be a limit of dutch's and pearls out there or they could make a server just for them this is jut at the top of my head

Noone can ignore the fact, that there is for example only one Black Pearl.

If everyone were sailing them, it would no longer hold the special aura and story line that the game RELIES on to be successful.

I think we have enough weapons. Additional skills/abilities to existing weapons could be neat, especially as the game evolves and may need other skills to address certain situations.

We definately do not need more powerful weapons than what we already have (once mastered) as the game stands now. More powerful weapons would actually deter from the fun in the game. How many high level pirates do you see in the local port royal jungles using thier cutlass to kill things for 0 rep. (a more powerful weapon would just make this situation happen in MORE places)

The only purpose to have more and more powerful weapons would be to boost ego's, which are already big enough for some in this game.

I think that's sort of true, but I personally would like to get something for grinding away for weeks and weeks to master everything (personal satisfaction is great and all, but something tangible would be much appreciated... ;) ).

I would go the route of "Master" items; when you master a weapon, you're given the Master version (well, you'd have to go pick it up from whoever...). I wouldn't even necessarily want it to be able to do anything extra (why would it need to?), just something that looks cool and is a special reward for spending countless hours leveling.

Not quite sure how the cannon would work...but having a Master War Fleet would be way cool, IMO.

Instead of a new weapon, or upgraded weapon, perhaps a special skill (ie leadership type of skill was mentioned).

We get one for beating the boss battle, how about a special skill for each discipline once it is mastered.

Ill tell you part of why I dont like the weapon concept.
I buy weapons upgrades, I work for weapons upgrades, when I upgrade my weapon, I basically lose my investment on the previous. That really bugged me when they added the new weapons quests. Things i'd spent thousands on, were suddenly 1800 gold, and were less effective than when i'd purchased them. Anyhow, perhaps a new version of the weapon, same powerband, but looks different to represent a 'master' in that discipline.

Mr.LoveLocket 07-20-2008 08:38 PM

no because we mastered it there is no point bc we get no rep.

CaptainGreeenee 07-20-2008 10:03 PM

What if POTCO made it so that once you buy a new weapon, you can sell the old one so you can somewhat get a refund.

Thats exactly what i want even if we had to buy it, it would reresent time and effort.
