Game Controls and Keys
 

Ok one of the biggest problems I face as a tester is knowing which controls operate the game. I am posting here what I have found. If anyone can add or change any of these, maybe it will make us all better testers.

F1 - Draw weapon - Sword by default
F2 - Draw weapon - Pistol by default
F3 - Draw weapon - Fists by default
F4 - Draw weapon - Empty by default
F7 - Open Option Menu
F12 - removes all visuals and menu from the playing screen

Tab - Opens sea chest

F - Hearties List (friend List)
M - Map Menu
I - Weapons Menu
J - Journal Menu
L - Player V Player
N - Skills Menu (mine doen't work)
(these comands may be done with mouse click also)

Left mouse - Change camera angle, (look around) or Use weapon
Right Mouse - In weapon mode will chose a different skill movement or Item

Enter - brings up chat box

Open Doors
Talt to townfolk
drive boat - esc - allows you to quit driving boat to move to another operation such as cannons
use cannons - esc - allows you to quit driving boat to move to another operation such as drive boat

Arrow up - Moves you or boat foward
Arrow Right - Moves you or boat Right
Arrow Left - Moves you or boat Left
Arrow Down - Moves you or boat Backward

If anyone can add or change, please feel free to post it for all

F9 - Take screenshot, saved in your game folder

Mouse scroll wheel - Choose ammo type, only when firing a cannon

W,A, S, D - Control movement just like arrow keys.'

Space - Jump!

NOTE: ESC and ENTER if you happen to press them at the wrong time can make the game just randomly shutdown. Very annoying!!

Wheel mouse= ZOOM: On my machine with my mouse settings, the wheel controls ZOOM when running around. So I can go from a wider view to a closer view and vice-versa.

K: Opens SKILLS for me.

ESC: As mentioned, crashes the game for me 50% of the time, but that's another story.

Hopefully, You will also update your initial list with this information so that future players will not have to scroll through many threads to find the feature or function they are looking for. I wanted to add some more to the list:

{SHIFT} + F1 = This provides a breakout box containing the coordinates your currently at within the game, very useful if your performing beta testing and find a bug within the game. You should perform this before doing the next command immediately after...

F9 = As someone previously stated, Takes a snapshot of your screen and places the *.jpg snapshot in your default application directory for pirates online providing you did not change it during installation (C:\Program Files\Disney\Disney Online\PiratesOnline).

F6 = Provides both latency and sync information within the game, another troubleshooting tool for identifying potential latency issues between your worksation and the server.

I would be more than glad to if someone would point me in the direction of the edit button on this forum. all I see are the Quote, report and Quick reply buttons :confused: There is not one on my original post.

Argh! As the pirates would say, I forgot this forum only has the edit button after you post if you close your browser or wait a certain amount of time you cannot update your original post....Forgot about that...

I have found that you can use F1 to quit sailing or cannons and you don't disconnect as much

Here's my favorite:

Shift + W
Use this when you're out sailing and your ship will move forward without you having to hold down the "W" key. :D

yeah i found that one by mistake and i keymapped like right awaty to one of the game buttons on my mouse.. just we just nee to find the auto-run button for walking around and we will be all set..
