Is POTCO to buggy?

Im not in yet so I want to know is it glitchy to much lag lots a bugs?

PinkPinkNicole 04-24-2007 02:13 AM

It's running a little too slow on my computer.
Once in a while it would just stop and the sounds would still be playing :(
Im just trying to be patient though, vmk wasn't as fast as it was today when it first began, either.

Since it is in Beta there are bugs and at least for me, alot of lag. But I am really enjoying it!

As with all closed beta's it is buggy.

But it gets better every update.

From what I hear from others who have been part of closed Beta trials, we are seeing what is to be expected at this time. There are all kinds of programs running in the background to keep an eye on problems, etc., so that does cause some lag. Each time we encounter a bug, we are making the game better. I feel so lucky to be a part of this! I started playing VMK when it was about 4 months old. It ran slow, and you got disconnected all the time. VMK runs so well now, we forget! :)

Yes, it is waay to riddled with bugs. Lag, walking without legs, etc... But, hey, thats the price of joining a game still in its beta stage.

Even though there is a lot of bugs, I think this is extremely common for games such as this. Just like the old statement, "Nobody is perfect." Not everyone can create a game without bugs right off the spot. It's like someone asking you to create a 50 page report within 2 days without any trace of grammar or spelling error.

If you really think about the game, there's a lot to program. You have to think of every aspect. For example, ships. So the main things to program: the ship's movement, driving the ship, the crew. Programmers also have to think outside the box. For example: "What happens if other pirates go on the ship?" or "What happens if players board on Navy ships?"

Stability is my bigget beef with the game so far. I can't play for long without crashing.

Bellatrix 04-26-2007 05:12 AM

Well, it is really, really, really buggy right
now. I was trying to go to a ship, and the
next thing I know, I was floating in water!
Ha ha. :)

I don't think so. I mean, it's still in beta, it's going to be like this. And it could be a lot worse.

Yes it is buggy, but it is still in beta so I bet it will get better.
