Sailing, & Solo Pirate Build

Right now I`m only lvl 8 Sailing. I enjoy the Sailing aspect of the game. & will be probable be solo alot. & since this game doesen`t give any respects(let you redo your skill points), What is a Solid Solo Sailing Build?

Right now I have:
1/5 Full Sail
5/5 Wind Catcher
with 1 point left over.

I know eventually I will need to 5/5 Left Broadside , & 5/5 Right Broadside. Should I hold off on leveling these up do to earning more rep for less damage? or start leveling them up right away?

So far my tactics have been to use my sloop. Get behind them, & start firing away on them. & If they are a heavy hitter I use Full Sail to get behind them, & avoid being hit.

In future play as a Solo Pirate do I need to change to a different type of ship? & If so do I need to change my tactics.

Ram speed is very nessasry along with treasure sense to et more money

Ram speed i only really use to get away from ships or get a quick position to attack the enemy. Dont forget ram speed is like twice as fast as full sail but half as long.

I do not recommend Treasure sense, it seems like a great thing at first, but then money comes all to easily as a higher level pirate, and youve wasted your skill points (IMO) ;)

I do not recommend treasure sense either.. i got 2 star and I still get the same credit. I say ramming speed and take cover are very valueable and should save up for those.

Thanks. Should I hold off till high levels adding more points to broadside? or should I start adding them now? & should I stick to using the Sloop type of ship? What should my skill point distrubition be?

Broadsides are usually the first to get filled up. You want the firepower to help keep you afloat. :)

Maybe 3 or so with the broadsides will do: depends really on your targets. To get the most out of solo sailing I find, you want to maneuver as fast as possible while being able to do the maneuvers. I'd put at least one into Ramming Speed and Full Sail, Come About being helpful itself. Take Cover is good for a point too. 5 would go into Windcatcher and Tacking. That's 24 or so with the Broadsides: 1 into Open Fire might not be your suit, so the two into the other thing... Taskmaster it is, might do.

i think broadsides should be put up to 3 skillz 1 in full sail i put 3 in ramming speed 1 in come about 1 in widcatcher 5 treasure sense 1 in taskmaster saving points for leadership

Rammning speed is goo to slam into them, Allways have a crew when you have a sloop. Its very hard because sloop is the weakest and it sinks quicker than other ship, allways avoid getting hit in the back, and the front.

saving points for leadership
Leadership is an award Skill... and as such you cannot put points on it (it is set standard to 10 seconds)

This thread here has several full builds plus discussion on why they chose those options :D
