Please help: how can u boot stowaways who take the wheel of ship?

I dunno what is in the air but since I got my war galleon I have had several "friends" tp 2 my ship and seize the wheel while I'm shooting a grapple or using a cannon.

How can I boot these people from taking over the ship. What I do is just enter the circle of the wheel and as the captain the ship can be steered by me. However, even though I always send in a bad behaviour report to Disney, how can I kick them off the ship or make em walk the plank for their mutiny so to speak?

There's no way as of yet to boot them off the ship, you can just take the wheel back. Then I'd remove the buggers from your friends list asap.

Removing from the friends/guild lists prevents them from teleporting to the ship in the first place, right?

Unless crewed.

Once removed from Crew, and Friends list (I dont even think Guild list works unless they changed it), they cannot rejoin the ship. Remove them from the lists. Port to get them off the ship, and they cannot rejoin when you relaunch. (as far as I know!)

Good idea zeppers thanks all for the advice!

They really have to add that to the game cause its a pain sometimes.

Did you try telling them to stop? Maybe they just don't understand...

This is good advice as well, how's a new pirate to learn. ;)

The experience you just wrote about, greatertater, is what started me turning down people's friend requests as well as helping people I don't know asking to go out on a crew in search of something. It's made me a lot more guarded playing the game, but it's also a learning experience for how to deal with liars and cheats.

I'd sailed with a guy (we'll call him Jerk) before on a friend's ship and after that went ok, I accepted his friend request. Then after a period of time, he'd occasionally ask "let's go plunder." One night, I had nothing better to do and we went out with my frigate.

Not long were we on my ship sailing when Jerk whispered "come to me" (which was odd given that we were both the only people on board). He got told, "uh, we are both ON the ship, what's up?" Nothing was said in response. So I left helm and went far enough down the stairs to see where he was; he was no where near a cannon just standing around on the front upper deck. :piratewheelgo2:

After continued sailing and plundering, we grappled a flagship and went over and did battle. What happened when we swung back totally explained that cryptic "come to me" aboard the ship... the bugger had raced up and grabbed the helm. Needless to say, I booted him from controlling my ship, said "Uh, I don't think so" and sailed for port. Jerk was promptly dropped from my friend's list. Not likely that he cared. His guild name pretty much said it all too; should have read that before. :psmiley35:

Like it says occasionally on the cut screen "be careful who you make friends with." Or something to that effect.

aaaaaaaaaaahhhh the guild list... I know what u mean! THAT explains a lot! This all started right after I joined a new guild. That is what I should've paid attention to!

Thanks lost... btw what guild r u in? I think I might be changing!

I have said no to a lot of "friends" now. If you want the best thing is to make them part of a crew and then let them board. But to stop this from happening you have to remove them as a friend, I would prefer something more direct (including sharks or fire ants) but that is the way I get rid of them.

with all the updates and everything, it completely baffles me that there's still no 'walk-the-plank' option.

It's a staple of pirate lore

Of lore but not history. I see only two options: dropping, ignoring, or leaving. Use those verbs as you wish.

A well said word is more important than a well-heeled shoe. Hee, hee heh. Words are the drivers that will carry us from victory to victory. Words are the means, to bring about...

...The End!

Some people got it, some people don't.

Arrrgh! I liked that commercial when I first saw it but after the 30th or so time, it's begun to lose it's appeal. Similar to the "You'll be golfing with a lady today" commercial.

True enough, no real historical support for walking the plank. Though, there are a few examples of it in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, which might be enough of a justification needed to implement. However, I think the option could also be abused (i.e., let's get a crew together, invite someone to join, then have them walk the plank after we've filled our cargo). Finding a way around that might be tough.

I have had this happen, and I immediately boot them off the wheel. I also say that under no circumstances are they to take the wheel without asking first. I honestly dont mind letting someone else drive once in a while, but they had better ask first... If they try it again, I boot them, full cargo or not, we land and I tell them why they are getting booted from my friends list. Has only actually gotten that far once. But then again, I am usually very careful about who I make my friends *shrugs*.
