Invincable ship

I just found out that if you cripple a flag ship without boarding it your ship stays invunerable to attacks the whole time your sailing :psmiley27: :12_1_138:

This is awesome

Yes, I have done this too, however I notice it actually makes it tougher to take down an enemy ship! :piratewheelgo2: The reason being that instead of coming at you when you shoot at it . . . it tends to go away from you and you spend more time chasing it than shooting it! :laughks2: I ended up sinking anyway because I lost track of time and timed out !! :psmiley27::

Yeahhh, I think most people know this.
There is already a thread on this bug.

Yeah, I didn't see much advantage to it myself...I don't like chasing stuff, and I rarely get hit anyway.

Works out well if you're going for a major flagship though. I used it to take down a Spanish Blood Sourge.

Oh yeah the invunarable trick.. So this is the glitch...

its not the the ships run away from you, it more like they dont see you or something, they stay in their regular path usually a circle

It was handy when doing screen shots. I found some skellys, mostly Phantoms, in a tight group (I think south off of PR). I shot the masts off of one, did the 'man overboard' glitch from my frigate then jumped on the crippled ship. It was fun taking those shots but without cannonfire (I didn't have a crew) there was no "drama". :pirate6:

I wish I knew this glitch when I was going through the Pirate Lore quest but otherwise its just like other exploits. Might be useful if your nearly sunk tho and can get a flag (like the Corvettes off of Cutthroat).

how do you do man overboard when your steering?
