level 4 cutlass poker quest advice I need help!
 

I have never been a poker player nor do I care to be. It just isn't my thing. I'm too hyper to still at a poker table and play the game and I really don't even know how. I have read the rules at the POTC Online website and at Wikki but how may I work around this? Can I give my un and pw to somebody I trust and then let them play the game for me? I really want my level four cutlass (pirate lore) and I earned the blackjack gold in no time but the poker part is driving me nuts.

I have plenty of gold and quite a few spare cards but I just don't know how to play the game. Any advice would be helpful! I also have to do the same for my level four pistol but I'm not that crazy about earning that anyways. But I really would like to get the level four cutlass. I have the level four doll and dagger and could care less about the pistol but this cutlass quest is getting on my nerves! LOL:psmiley35:

First, do NOT give your user account info to anyone. If you need guidance, get someone to sit in on the game with you. They can fold immediately, and you can tell them the cards you have, and let them tell you whether to fold or continue betting.

Then go to Padres. The table limits are higher, so you can get out quicker.

I hate the "Win at Poker/Blackjack" quests. I really think they should let you just pay the gold to whoever instead of gambling for it.

One hint I find is do them both at the same time. It counts for both Gun abd Dagger same time.

I hate poker too. I dont cheat (trade out cards) but can manage to win in Tortugua more often than other places. I also found wait to do it later at night then im only playing NPC people who never cheat. I tried to play in Padres once because bigger bets. All that meant to me was bigger losses.

Also get a friend to come in and talk to each other about your cards. Ive only done this a couple times but they throw it my way when they can by raising the anti and then folding when its just us left.

Last thing is they dont take away for losses, YEA. As you gain it stays so keep trying a little at a time if you have to.

I suggest going to Padres its the easiest way .

Thanks to all for some great answers. I don't want to cheat either so the ponit abuot playing only npc is a great one. I also think they should just let you pay the gold. About 10% of the population in the US alone has problems with addiction. That can be addiction to *****, gambling, ***, porn, alcohol, video games, dieting, eating etc. Why make people do this to complete quests? It could open a pandora box. I think it is fine for it to be available but I don't c y it should be necessary to gamble in order to finish quests. Just my two cents.

If you want, I'm usually in the Ratskiller (sp?) bar in Padres at the poker table. If you want, I could help you win a few hands. :) Find me and let me know who you are. It's pretty easy to learn poker, but I understand the frustration.

I myself couldnt believe they were forcing us to gamble (although some dont see it as gambling if its play money).

When I did it, I made a few people mad I know... I had all sorts of gold, so I just sat there and raised every time. People got disgusted and folded out.. and lol I won, then I left.

I told those at the table "Its all about the quest!"

They would get mad and say, "no it isnt, its about the gold...".

I recommended the file thier complaints with Disney, as it was thier silly quest requirement not mine.

added: last couple times, i used my second pirate to lose to me... hehe

Get a hel to fold for you or NO! i have a better idea! get a trusted friend to bet a lot until the npc dont bet no more. Then your friend folds you win the money. Then you return it the same way.

All the answers on these threads were just awesome! Thanks for all the help. I now play reasonably well and if Im no groggy I wait it out playing some poker in the mean time and without cheating I manage to usually win a few hands. I did win enough for all the quest requirements and then some. Thanks again to all.
