Hex eater shots not working

In the past few days, my hex-eater shots aren't doing their job. Used to be, I could paralyze a gypsy or mollusk or brinescum with a couple hex eaters, then finish 'em off with some low-level weapon to get as many points as possible. Now it's not working. I keep hex-eating the gypsies - and they keep cursing me back. Nothing seems to paralyze them anymore. My imagination or a bug?

Has been happening alot to me also. Not everytime but I would say about 30 -40 % of the time.

They were working last night on Cangrjos, I was using them agaunst the French Lt's. One or two shots and they froze.

It's not your imagination, but it doesn't do it every time, either.

If you drain them and then attack immediately, it doesn't happen. Mostly.

But if you drain them, and either delay the attack, or switch to another target mid-attack and take too long switching back, then there's a good chance that they will start to regain voodoo.

And once they start to regain voodoo, even if you drain them again, they will continue to regain it. Your only options are to either kill them quickly, or run away. If you DO run away, and either leave the zone or just run far enough to get them to disengage, they'll regen back to full HP and voodoo, but the voodoo regen will still be there. You have to kill it.

This explains why you sometimes get one that regens from the start even if you didn't switch away. The last person to attack that mob switched away and then fled or died without killing it. But sometimes it happens even if you do everything right.

Very weird.

yes what bilge said if u drain their voodoo and they disengage you when u come back it is impossible for you to drain all their voodoo it is a bug it also happens when someone else was there before you hexed them then went back to get em they died never came back now u are there and its bugged

I hadnt thought about someone having attacked the mob previously putting it into this state. However I definately noticed that if I switched to something else ever so briefly.. that annoying crab, scorpion or whatever, that when I switched back 2-3 shots later, I was being hexed even after appearing to have 'drained' all thier voodoo. Even finishing them off WITH hex shot, they seem to be able to regain enough to 'poke' or 'swarm' ya between shots, they must regen FAST!

I've found it happens more in certain places. Sudoron takes me sometimes six-nine shots. I couldn't get them to work at all on Mollusks (who love me. I'm a mollusk magnet) but worked fine on Brinscum.

In Tormenta it seems like whenever I attack the first mollusk when entering the zone, my hex eater won't drain him. He just keeps casting no matter how many shots I hit him with. But after that, they act normal.

My hex shots seemd to be working as always today. . . . but as was said some times the enemy can still get off a hex at me. . . . One thing that annoys me, and IMO is so NOT right, is that the gypsys or other voodoo weilding enemies can get you from long distance and you have to be right on top of them to attune to the doll! grrrrr, is there a skill in later doll levels that allows you to attune from more of a distance? (I am only at level 15 with doll)
