Treasure: WHAT'S IT FOR?!

What is the treasure that you pick up from skeletons and collect and stuff for, other than getting a few extra coins from the plunder?!:skull:

That's...pretty much it. You get coinage, plus you get a nice little collection of stuff.

I also believe (read somewhere else in these forums) you get like 25 notoriety points when you find a "NEW!" item.

You get 25 notoriety points on all plunder - not just "NEW" items. The only items that don't pay off in notoriety points are playing cards.

Sometimes I'll take a run through Wicked Thicket or Wildwoods and just blast everything in sight with my pistol. Though I get zero rep points on the weapon, I can often gain an extra 200-300 notoriety points in only a few minutes.

Never thought of it that way. Maybe I can get one of those fabeled (because I haven't found any yet!) rare clothing drops too.

it already gives u the gold u get the treasures and it gives u the gold automatically

Dr. Zeppers 06-09-2008 04:42 AM

I see now that it does. I also see why I thought it did not.

It gives you the notification for the item, then another notification for the gold.
I was thinking the gold was an additional plunder aside from the 'item', however the gold is the value of that item being awarded.

So even if you max out all the teeth that's suppose to have a treasure map on it it doesn't do anything? (I'm two of a certain kind away from having the max of them all.)

League 06-18-2008 06:45 AM

Yep. I don't want to pick up noto when I pick up a treasure though.

I usually do it when I need to pick off skeletons for Black Mack and Sam Seabones. Why should I transport myself to a distant location when Wicked Thicket is right there? Then, after killing a couple skeletons for them, I like to run around blasting things.

I happen to find it fun. The rep is just a bonus.

Also, you can swap out the cards you get with a card you're dealt in Blackjack (not sure about Tortuga Hold'em).
