I know why the Spainish are fighting the French

I just got done watching Pirates of the Carribbean: At worlds end today and I know why these two hate each other so much. When they are at the breathren court and all of them at sitting at the table, the two of them break out into an arguement and the French guy punch's the Spainish guy right in the kisser. then the whole court breaks out into what seems like a bar fight.

The two of them if you compare if you look at picture's or have seen the movie, there pirate lords. but why are they fighting over islands, I have no clue. thought one of them held a grudge against each other:laughks2: that's my 2 cents..

LOOKA LIKES!!! GET IT RIGHT!!!!

It's probably a nod to history, since if you look it up, in 1555 a French pirated plundered the spanish settlement of Havana. Also in 1665, the French occupied half of the Island of Hispaniola and renamed it Haiti.. So thats probably where the grudge is from.

its because the spanish guy did something to make the french guy mad

o and also the pirate lord is named edwardo but the spanish island ruler is named garcia

Considering the movie is loaded with historical facts/information, I wouldn't be surprised if the game did so as well. Theres nothing wrong with a history lesson, sheesh.. *is a history major*

There is a little bit of real history in the game. There really was a Port Royal, but it sank in an earthquake in 1692. Cuba and Tortuga are still around.

You could probably make the case that Padres del Fuego corresponds to St Pierre, Martinique or Plymouth, Montserrat. The rest could be anything.

Who Knows But that is clever!

Hile 06-07-2008 11:48 PM

Just a large portion of the town. It's a part of Jamaica.

"Port Royal has been featured as a location within Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean film series, though much of the location work for Port Royal was actually done in Saint Vincent, not in Jamaica". So POTCO coppied us sorta
