shoving between grappled ships..ugh!
 

I have disabled 2 of the new French ships, only to have a war frigate (different one each time) cram between my ship (war sloop) and the French, shoving my ship far away (still grappled), bombing the daylights out of me, and making it impossible to cannon the French crew before boarding. I guess this is funny to some people, but without the chance to cannon the Ghost crew before boarding I don't stand a chance of sinking the ship. Both times I lost the opportunity to complete a quest. This is maddening! Any suggestions?

Pff. The nerve of some people. Try it on a quiet server, I suppose. I dont know what to say other than that..

I too have experience a lot of rude behavior by others around these new ships, a shame really, I just dont understand people who wish to ruin other peoples enjoyment, a truely sad form of entertainment if you ask me.

You can call your guild to gull them and make their gaming a living heck! If someone did that to my friend, I would launch my ship and get teh rest to do the same and bombard them stealin their play and fun until they get frustrated enough and leave.

I think I ran into one of those frigates. I had the same thing happen to me yesterday.

yea that happened to me and a small crew of my guildmates once, we were outside kingshead fighting the M-O-W flag that spawns around there, some guy that was by himself started doing the same thing (cramming between us and flag) while saying "HAHAHA! glitch", and if he couldnt get between our ship and the flag then he would start to bombard the M-O-W with fire cannon, after about ruining about 5 of our runs he docks at kingshead, so we finish loading up cargo and wait for him to come back but he never does, so i dock and my guildmates leave. i relaunch and there sits the goob, luckily i was fully loaded on fire, i parked there for 30 minutes and sank every m-o-w he engaged, needless to say i think he learned his lesson =)

Another fun thing to do when they try that....
Have one of your side cannon preloaded with explosive. I know it doesn't actually damage their ship, but surprises them. Scared off a couple that were trying that the other night. Was rather proud of my gunner for thinking of that.

I'll admit the gulls are a pain - they always have been since the Bull Runs off Devils Anvil and the Light Sloop Swarms... (those were the days.. I actually miss that old Bulwark...)

D though has caused a problem in this paticular case - they put a quest in where you need to board 1 of each ship - then only put one of each ship out there! So you have the 'squatters' just out making some cash and fun (hey - I got no problem with that, we all higher ups just like to board boats at times), but others (including myself) need the boats for your quest... what does one do?

You don't want to be rude and cut in, you also don't want to 'squat' on them because you know others need them for their quests (I and several others have board a few - but have taken the opportunity to go after some of the other flags now that they are not so busy)...

Now I go to a different server until I find a quiet one - but on the weekend this will be Maddness!!!!
