Was Jack's father ever in the movie?

He was in the last one close to the end of the movie played by Keith Richards.

yea you know Keith Richards, the great gutiarist from the Rolling Stones that somehow despite his lifestyle is still miracilously alive.

He killed off all the weak brain cells when he pickled himself in booze and *****.

Yes, he was the keeper of the Pirate Codex, looked alot like Jack, and came on at the meeting of the brethren court to show the book to the other pirates and to read out the rules that decided who was to be the next pirate king.

he was invited by Depp to play his father.... he was the basis of the Sparrow character...

It sorta makes it easier to understand why Jack was even a pirate lord: he seemed nowhere near as notorious or powerful as the others, them all having domains (Sao Feng, Singapore, eyc. etc.). Anywhoo, I thought when I first saw it that he was Jack's brother, nothing telling me er say that he was Jack's dad.

He does say 'hey dad hows mum?'
Then Keith Richards says 'shes good' and holds up a shrunken head

All I really remember was "how's mum", making me think he was Jack's brother. Anywhoo, got to wonder at who that mom may have been.

( clears throat ) AHEM. no matter how true it seems, or is, disney being as stubborn as they are, never actually revealed if he was Jacks blood related dad. they did, however mentioned that he was the man who reasied jack, so I think they're just avoiding the fact. and on that who jack being a pirate lord, he won the peice of eight at some sort of bet or card game. *shrug* but, I know the real truth! teague is my- ( gets taked away by pirate wittness protection program ) (again )

Teague is Jack's father as per canon. He's in a few of the Young Jack Sparrow books as Jack's dad.

Aye, Capt. Teague is his name I believe. He is Jack's father according to the Pirates Online Father's Day Quest.

yes Disney released this info during the fathers day quest which i sadly didn't get to do but there he was Jack's father. Perhaps in the 4th pirate movie stranger tides there may be more with Capt. Teague and his mates Bartholomew and Morgan the keepers of the code.
