Undead French ships are driving me mad

So, I'm doing the new quest, and I'm at the point where I have to sink some French ships. I sank the first one no problem, as it was right off the shore of Cangrejos. However, my next task is to sink a French Cererbus. I think I have seen two, and I must have tried to get to them at least 10 times altogether. They are completely surrounded by regular skeleton ships. I can't get anywhere near them before I find myself in jail.

I don't know if it's my problem or that the sea is really over packed over there, as I seem to have a different sailing style than a lot of people. I usually sail alone...I really should crew up more often. However, despite my level, I'm poor and still only have a regular galleon...so that may be why I'm sinking so quickly.

I'm just very annoyed because I was liking the new stuff, and was 95% done with the quest, and now I'm just at a standstill. :pirate7:

The seas are pretty busy over there. If you're trying to do this by yourself it's gonna be tough. I was out with 3 friends and we did that entire quest in about 30 min + travel time. The masts snap off on those ships very easy but they still move quite a bit after that.

Yeah we had to play duck duck goose out on the sea. Clear the path by Mowin the lawn and get ur skelly. However once you disable it, dont thingk ur invincible while you take ur time to graple it. Your not.

Good Point Angel, I nearly sank thinking I had some time to grapple the little buggers....

Unlike other flags, you can still be fired on by any other ship in the area until you land the grapple. So unless you have a crew that's good with the hook, it's a good idea to clear your path beforehand.

I had the same problem. I also tend to do my quests solo. I think it took me three tries to get that Blood Scourge because of all the other ships joining in.

And then after the French ships you need the Spanish ships. But at least you get the Spanish ships in a group so you can take whichever you find first.

The quest was very strange... the French parts were parceled out very slowly. First kill 20 of this, now 15 of this, etc. and then one ship at a time. But when it came time for the Spanish, you got a big old list that I think is easier to work with (especially with the way they seem to group together)- waiting for one particular type of French especially with the gulls flapping about was more annoying

yea there are some minor issues with these new ship but hopefully they will be worked out soon

I think that was because they realized you'd have to go all the way back to Cangrejos from Cutthroat to do the quest turn-in, but for the French, you were right there.

But yeah, I liked getting it all in one bunch like that. I wish they'd do that more often.

Yeah it is annoying having to port after each ship just to get a request for the next one. Heck, I brought out my laptop just to use Angel for a TP Totem lol!

Chris 05-29-2008 05:17 PM

:laughks2::laughks2:u turned angel into a totem pole!

yea id prefer a sink this this this and this ship

Lucy 05-29-2008 06:29 PM

lol, yes, I saw her there all night :)

Angel 05-29-2008 06:32 PM

LOL if I wouldve though about it I wouldve friended you on her Lucy. You couldve used her that way too. I did have someone bring a Undead QM up to her and try to get her killed. One lifedrain and it was all over for him.

Lucy 05-29-2008 06:47 PM

that would have been cool :), though I wouldnt have gotten that cool screenie after I sunk trying to make it back to cagrejos after sinking the spanish blood scourge lol

I am having a French ship problem too! Mine has to do with a quest requiring that I sink a French Shadow Crow. . . . I have only seen Spanish Shadow Crows, no French! I go to the places where all the French Ships are and see all the other Types, no shadow Crow. . . . anyone know where they lurk? :piratewheelgo2:

The French stick together. Keep searching. They are there.
