How does level cap affect the player?

I finally reached lvl 30, and got my staff. The discussion with Tia afterwards has me concerned. I have only maxed one skill (cannons), and I know I can't get XP anymore doing that. What happens when I reach 40? Can I still level up non-mastered skills, or do I totally lose the ability to gain any XP? Am I displacing potential skill mastery with quest XP?

You can still master each one of your skills up to 25.

When you achieve level 25 on any weapon/skill, you will no longer be rewarded reps, skill or notoriety wise when using that skill/weapon.

When you achieve Notoriety level 40, you will no longer accumulate Notoriety points for any actions, however, you will continue to receive weapon/skill reps for any weapons not yet mastered (allowing you to master each of them).

However the discussion remains....are the reps cashed somewhere and when the cap is raised to 50, we will gain back those reps?

Good question, I'm thinking of the DXD pirate descriptions when not all lvl 40s are listed as lvl 42 but after a while of leveling you get there. Let's say you reach 40 with something at lvl 15 and lvl 21, master those and you might be only at lvl 41 if the cap wasn't 40. I think enemies defeated and treasures collected might be have something to do with it because you get 25 rep for every 30 defeated and 25 for every treasure collected, all that rep adds up you know. So what I'm thinking is when the cap is raised we will regain all the rep we got after reaching 40. But another question would be how would you possibly be able to hit 50 with all the weapons mastered, and all the treasures collected? 8 lvls of defeated enemies is a little too much.

Once the cap is raised the weapon ca will also be raised to 30.

AdmiralSavvy 05-24-2008 11:55 PM

Oh ok, then it will be possible to reach 50.

we can only hope they raise them lol

Hmm... 30 eh? I'm already conniving...

It's too soon to raise the level cap. They should wait until September or so.

Maximvs 05-28-2008 01:49 AM

Too soon? :D Too many are hitting the 40 mark now and not enough storyline to take you there... they need to a) add more storyline so a pirate should completely be leveling to 50 through a storyline (and not end at L27 and have to spend the next 13 levels at Tormanta) and b) raise the cap to 50! LOL :D

Angel 05-28-2008 01:59 AM

RAISE the cap. There are some people that have all 4 pirates mastered now.

DarthChaosSky 05-28-2008 02:33 AM

Well they're putting too much on players all at once. You have new weapons quests, tattoo quests, plus they're adding the islands. I think they should wait. :D

They had no choice - they were watching their paying customers with Maxed Pirates leave after months of neglect - and 'no where to go' as it were. The side quests are fun for entertainment - but if a full 50 Level storyline was in place these would be just that - side quests...

Now - I don't want the new stuff at the price of bugs... keep it AWAY from live if theres a hint of a bug, this only causes more frustration for the players who want to dive in and keep going :D
