Rose Heartscarlett

I know Rose is being a pain about joining the Wenches. She asks me at least once a day. As an officer, I want to veto the idea. She's just too young. It's bad enough with Disney hanging over my shoulder. I really wouldn't be able to talk with my own kid in the guild.

However, I will offer a suggestion. Someone start another guild - Rose could do it, we don't have a guild on our account - and let in the under 18's and the guys. They could be allies to the Wenches. Come up with some name that goes along with War Wenches - sorry, my brain is on the fritz right now, can't come up with a thing.

Anyway, I'm going to take another nap. Maybe later I'll get out my thesaurus and look up name ideas.

Rose can join my guild if you want. We are a family friendly guild and would love to have Rose in our guild.

Wenchettes?

Wenchlings?

Wenches in Training?

Wenchkins?

Kate McGrim 05-20-2008 11:19 AM

I like the wenchlings. That one sounds nice. Has a ring about it

Rose likes the guild she's in, it's just that she wants to be a War Wench. But she's not an adult yet. These middle schoolers think they're grown and it always kicks them in the teeth to find out they're not. I remember those years...

I sent you a PM with what Misty and I discussed.

Bella

Yeah, I'm a little apprehensive about the middle school years. Fortunately, my oldest is only 6, so I've got a little time yet...

She plays, but has more fun creating and dressing up the pirates than anything else.

Yeah, we talked about it yesterday and understand your hesitation. As said, shes your daughter and ultimately its your call in the end. She can create her own guild for the Wench's bodyguards/purse holders or just a "Wenchlings" guild (however this will be a surefire way to give out the Jr. ages to anyone).

I certainly understand your decision Lib. Too bad though-but I understand . A sub guild is a great idea but also know that she really just wants to be a War Wench. As she said to me the other day, waiting will be years. But she should be proud that she is in our fold and not many are. For those of you that haven't fought with Rose yet, she is a great pirate-a level 35 and growing. And she makes me laugh and enjoy the game that much more. In her eyes the game is "fun" and has fun playing, while so many of us older folks are finding many days in pirate land almost like tedious work.
She "allows" me to be a child again.

And there's the best reason of all to be a parent - it gives me a legitimate excuse to do goofy things! People look at you weird when a grown woman splashes in the puddles after a rain storm but they don't think twice if you've got a kid with you.

I really have fun with my kid-pirate friends - the off-the-wall adolescents, the 6-year-old who loves to play tag (and is a fine pirate in her own right), and my favorite, the biggest kid of all, the one who's 50-something. They all make me laugh. They are why I keep playing. Plus, they are an antidote to lupus!

Bella 05-21-2008 05:06 PM

Misty, Lib,

That IS the best thing about having kids. I can bounce in the Jupiter Jumps, play with ABC blocks, even play in the McD's playground and no one looks twice.....

Yes, that is one thing I do love about kids. I can take my niece to a cartoon movie or the play room and have fun myself. Everyone looks funny at the 30 y/o whos splashing in puddles or watchin cartoons (yes I do watch spongebob!!!). I'm a kid in an adults body and I love it!!

They bring life and vibrance to our somewhat dull adult existence. I can understand and respect your hesitation on guilding her in. Ultimately its your decision but even without the guild name above her head....she will always be a War Wench to us.
