Pirate Name Issue

Hi,

I only post here as I'm at my wits end and don't know how to do anything else to remedy this.

I created my pirate on May 3rd. As of May 17th, my name has still not been approved. I think I'm the only Lvl 18 pirate named "Pirate" around. :) I have emailed support numerous times (to numerous email addresses given to me either by the PotC Online website, live phone support reps etc, and all I get is either no answer, a live person telling me to send an email, or a generic cut-and-paste email response telling me that name approval is done in batches and that while they try to review most within 24-48 hours, some may take longer. Is 2 weeks acceptable though?

Has anyone else experienced a lengthy name approval process? If so, how long did it take, and what happened to get it either approved or a new name chosen etc?

The name I chose was Tetley Lovesacuppa; Live phone support told me that they were probably looking up "acuppa" in various world dictionaries, but that if I had information I could write the [email protected](sp) email with an explanation (which I did), but that was over a week ago.

I love the game, and don't want to stop playing (and do not want to have to start a new pirate) but I think some better communication from Disney on this isn't too much to ask for, and that in general based on other MMO's I've played, a naming issue *should* be a fairly easy fix.

Any suggestions?

- Tetley Lovesacuppa (Hopefully!)

2 weeks is no acceptable, I personally have no avenue to get things done faster but i would keep hounding them.

Sounds to me like they are rejecting your name. Unfortunately some names arent Disney approved. However Ive seen names slip through that I cant believe made. it. You might have to go with a different name.

Which I'm totally fine with, I'd just like someone from Support to actually contact me and tell me, and provide me a resolution. Looks like I'll just keep sending the emails every few days until it gets fixed.

Thanks all!

After 15 days I finally got a response stating that the name was rejected. I submitted a new one so fingers crossed it goes through, or I'll know now it could take weeks to get reviewed.

How Could Disney Not know that's a Tea reference??? I thought the name was rather cute. Hope your new name goes thru quickly, and you like it as much :)

Only reason I can think is that Tetley is a brand name - as soon as I saw a post here by the name Tetley, I thought of tea.

Hope you have success getting your new name approved.

Yup.. Naming guidelines state no copyrighted names.. but it also states no titles(ie Captain or Dr.) as names, but I dont know how many "Captain so and so" are out there, so go figure on how they review names
