Forgetting the playstation?

:degen:Okay, i'm not sure if it's just me, but every time i mention the word: playstation.people tend to get confused and say "ps2." then i tell them again. now i know that people sometimes shorted the ORIginal playstation to "ps" but STILL! come one now! im not that old- and i can't say,"oh, it wasn't their generation, so-" no!it WAS their generation! MY generation aswell, so for people to "NOT know" what the original playstation is, is alittle odd for me to hear. (as you can see) ;):dancetl6:anyway, carry on(JAG, E.D.M.)Guide to the Unknown

Yeah....I've got a Playstation, a PS2, a Dreamcast, an Atari 5400, a Nintendo Entertainment System, a N64 and a Wii....used to have a Comodore 64 and believe it or not a Texas Instrument computer (awesome). I don't know what happened to my old Pong machine though...

I'm actually surprised with how many people don't know what the Dreamcast was..R.I.P.DC

My husband and I run a retrogame buisness. Believe it or not there is a huge number of people looking for the old machines.

We have about 3 - 7 of most old systems. We even have the huge bazooka looking thing for the DC.... Dont forget the Robot and the power pad for the NES.....

I wish my husband would get it out of the garage lol

OH Dont forget the old Sega 8 Bit.....

Aliese 05-14-2008 11:28 PM

I have an older brother, so of course I know what it is; we started on the Atari. :piratetongueor4:

Angel 05-14-2008 11:42 PM

So no one remembers the Comodore 64 eh? Back before the internet, before Windows and Mac....the original computers? DOS Prompt!!!

CrimsonRabbit 05-14-2008 11:49 PM

Ahhh yes...the Sega Genesis w/ Altered Beast.....sweeet!!! ...and I thought I'd throw out the most awesome Power Glove for the NES, now that's technology at its finest!

Or the Atari 400 with the audio cassette drive?

Gorams 05-18-2008 01:26 PM

I still have my original gameboy... LOL I remember I had to buy a light for it so I could play in the dark ;)

BayouGirl 05-19-2008 01:06 AM

I remember the Commodore! I used to stay up all nite on my Commodore 64 playing games like Zork, Jeopardy, Boulderdash, Jumpman, Pirate Adventure, Finding Dr Livingston.... There was even a 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' game, that playing Toontown reminds me of sometimes. Text adventures were my favorite. Soooo many great memories!! I used to play with making programs in Basic on it, too, lol. When I got stuck on a game, or found that there was an error in it, I would print the game code out on the dot matrix printer, find the relevant lines, and fix the game or cheat - whichever was necessary at the time, lol. It was so easy back then! Still have a couple in the attic that I hope to resurrect someday.

The first computer class I took at school was on a TRS 80....I used to make cute little input games for my friends to goof around with.

Nowadays when people talk about Wii, PS2, Gameboy, etc. I have no clue. There are so many gaming options now it's almost impossible to keep up with. LOL things sure have changed a lot since then (though my gaming addiction hasn't). God, I feel old!!

I still have a Sinclair Research Spectrum original with rubber keys (big in the UK in the mid 80's) I cut my Computer training teeth on the Apple IIe then moved onto Acorn machines, then Apricots. All sounded a bit fruity in them days lol
