Game is seriously messed up for me lately

Whole areas missing, menus unreadable, ships only partially visible, and I can barely navigate land due to it being a jumbled up mess.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Angel 05-11-2008 07:31 PM

I did, but I talked to live chat. They told me to update my graphics drivers and then go from there. Try that and see if it helps.

OK, here's what the site says on how to find the driver you have and when it was last updated.

Quote:

If you have Windows installed on your computer, please follow the steps below to determine which video card is installed:

1. Click the "Start" button in the lower left-hand corner of desktop
2. Select "Run"
3. In the resulting box, type: dxdiag
4. Click the "OK" button
5. Select the "Display" tab at the top
6. Under "Device," you will find the name and manufacturer of your video card
7. Under "Drivers," you will find the date and version of the video card driver installed in your computer

Once you know the name of the video card manufacturer, locate your card and operating system in the table below.

If there is a gold coin in the slot for your card and operating system, click on it to download the latest drivers for your video card!

If you can't find your video card in the list of supported hardware, please check the following list below for the video cards that aren't supported or are still being tested.

We will continue to update this page and encourage you to check back periodically to make sure you have the latest information.
I suggest googling the driver when your done to find where to DL newer updates for it. Hope that helped/

Thanks for the replies.
I talked to online chat and gave over all my log files.
I have a G5 iMac so the standard fixes don't seem to apply.
They said they'd get back to me asap so here's hoping.....

Oh your one of those that cant get on etc. Many people are waiting for the fix for Macs.

Maximvs 05-12-2008 03:54 AM

Yea, from several threads here Macs got the 'boot' pretty hard on the latest update... sorry to hear that. I hope the Devs are sticking to their word and trying to resolve the Mac issues asap...

Looks like I'm in the same rowboat as you. I've got a 24" iMac with a 2.8 ghz Intel Core 2 Duo. Same random graphical errors, unreadable menus, etc . . . . Have had this happening since the clothing update.

The more people that report bugs on this issue, the faster they might get to fixing it. Even if everytime you log off you report a bug. Bug them!!!

davy redflint 05-12-2008 06:18 PM

i notice any major updates they do, there always bugs of some sort that why u see alot of mantenace issues like today

Angel 05-12-2008 08:40 PM

You should check the game today for you. They did a few updates lately and *crosses fingers* it might have been what you needed.

I hope they fix somethin cuz my Mac still lags and boots all crazy like :) I have a 2.2 GHz MacBook Pro w/ GeForce 8600M GT bt who knows i'm sure there's somethin I don't have that causes me to sink and die constantly because I can't see what is going on.

Incompatibiliy Continues...

I play on a Mac PowerPC G4 and have not been able to even get as far as my pirate loading screen without the application "quitting suddenly". This has been since the weapon quest updates. I deleted launcher, emptied trash bin, ran software updates, then downloaded new launcher. After trying to sign on the launcher ran an update on itself, this made me very hopeful - but still it quit suddenly. When the bug report automatically opened I filled it out... but it would not send. I contacted tech support and after I told them my operating system there was a long pause, then a long paragraph explaining the latest updates have caused a Mac incompatibility problem that "engineers are working hard to fix" but with no e.t.a. of a fix. That was over a week ago. At the time we canceled our second unlimited account - not wanting to overpay for something we can't use. Today I got same answer about "trying to fix" and we made the decision to cancel our main unlimited account.

Here's my main note: customer service says your progress is saved indefinitely and should you choose to reinstate your unlimited access your pirate will be restored to their full unlimited progress.

I've been a pirate since first launch of first beta... I'm truly sick over this whole mess. :skull:

P.s.

P.S. We were given a 7 day extension to our account due to this unresolved problem. But 3 weeks without did not make a 7 day extension a suitable resolution for us. Still, for those who are experiencing the same problems: you may want to contact tech support to at least explore your options for compensation. Good luck, Me Hearties!! :piratewheelgo2:
