Multi hit abilities and skills?
I was reading on this forum that each hit gains a certain amount of rep, so if you hit more you get more rep. This made me curious about the multi hit skills in cutlass and dagger. Flourish and Swipe. So when those abilities go off does it count as one hit or 3 and 2 for each?
Thanks :) |
I believe they count as one hit.
Rep depends on the type of skill we are using and also our weapon level and the enemy level. |
I am not sure this answers your question...
In additon to what Ironhawk stated... which obviously would effect reps, etc. In my experimenting I found that if I mistimed my combo moves thereby 'skipping' them, that it appeared I would receive more reps. The downside was length of time/number of attacks it took to defeat the enemy. Taking an extra minute... wearing my fingers out mistiming strikes... wasnt worth the 5-20 more reps I might get. In the long run I determined although it was neat to change up every once in awhile, that it wasnt worth the extra time for the few extra reps. Zeppers Lvl40 http://pirates.teamofx.us |
The simple answer is as Hawk and Sam say - its one 'hit'...
The more 'buried' answer... is the POTCO code - the 'combo' attack of a weapon is totalled to be considered one 'combo hit' (when the combos appear for example: 11 Hits 1963 Total - is the total of the entire hit, and not counted as seperate hits). As for benifits of REPS and swings - sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't - worth it. For example, questing items tend to ask for a lot of 'Get 5 of X' where its actually faster to just get the 5 then get the 500 REP for them then to try to 'hack' at the 5 for a few extra REP. Much later in the game when you are after enemies with semi-much higher levels and its your only focus - then take your time and get the extra REP for the extra hits. In the end - its all about play style I think - as long as I'm having fun now thats all I focus on (otherwise I should have had three Mastered Pirates by now :) ) |
If you do a combo pack and hit them you would get for example 15 reps. If you just hack away you would get 40 reps. A higher lvl enemy can net you up to 100 reps out of crew just hackin away (or button mashing).

While leveling up, I never take time to level up against equal level enemies. I take them out as soon as possible.

i think its the more hits you get the more xp you get. for example i could beat 2 stumps down with wither on my staff and get 30xp each. Or i could use soul flay which is quite a bit weaker but produces more hits and takes more time and get 50xp for each.
You just have to make up your mind which you'd rather do 8 seconds of killing or a minute and gain that extra rep. |
