Ship PVP - It's Here
Yes, ship PVP is in POTCO now! Though it has not been put into the game and made public yet, the staff are planning it and probably testing it. The next time you go sailing and are captaining a ship, hold down the button that has ~ and ` on it. Now you see - ship PVP is coming; soon. |

It's gonna be fun! My guild will be good in it. We have a lot of sailing masters and high level cannoneers. We also have a gazillion War Frigates :laughks2:

I was told the ~ was a residue from back when the PvP still was in game play. Lets hope it is coming back, cause I would like to test it out.....And Davy, we would love to PvP you guys!! :)

General Overview On Ship PVP:
Ship PVP? Regard myself as attending at a constant rate, for I will be. Ship PVP appears to be entertaining. Previous to this rather exhilerating installment there was no practical use for the Grapeshot Cannonball Skill and the Chainshot Cannonball Skill because the Regular Shot and Lightning Shot could execute all the operations Chainshot and Grapeshot could. Yet... they were more cost efficient. Pity I made the irrisponsible error of purchasing the Chain and Grapeshot... Regardless, at least I can justify my accidental purchase now. The Downsides And Upsides w/ fixes: I see some downsides to this. Soon, we could have a serious problem with "New Player Hunting" which we all know is high levels challenging low levels unfailrly. A possible fix to this is to either average out the player's notoriety when fighting, or average out the players notoriety when fighting. The reason I'm not suggesting only sending pvp requests out to players who are your level is simple. You should be able to fight anybody you want, at any time. By no means should we limit people. Want to fight your friends? Go right ahead. No fear of losing should swell inside you. Why? Average notoriety, average skills, and average cannon and sailing level! Yaaaaaaay! I see upsides. I'm not completely "Oh noes this will never work!". Ship PVP will add a hint more fun to the aspect of pirates of the carribean. This can allow tighter friendships to be made and more friendships to be spawned. You can practice commanding crews and become more "sail n' cannon savvy" all at the same time. I can't wait for the initialization of the system. In Conclusion: PVP will be an interesting add on... depending on the options, requirments and game rules. I'm anticipating a change in level designation but I can't be sure until I get more information on the aspect. I have a high sailing, cannon, and Im a good sailer/driver. Which means Im a good asset to any pvp team. Too bad i do my best when Im alone.

I have recently noticed what appears to be new damage models on the ships. Where I was previously seeing gaping holes that you could literally see through, although I still see those occasionally, it seems I see what appears to be more of the ships framework/structure as I take them down instead of gaping blank holes. This would seem to me to be further progress towards ship/ship pvp, or maybe my systems just woke up and started showing me something they werent before.

All that I have seen is when you shoot a ship and their health bar appears. This does not damage the ship though. Has this happened to anyone else?

Yeah, however I dont remember seeing it lately though. It was once they updated it, it started happening more.

I'd rather do Ship PVP because ships dont move back and forth as crazy as some people in PVP that makes it impossible to get a hit on.
