Wheel Stealers. I thought they fixed that?

I was on my ship, minding my own business, then suddenly someone TPed to my ship who wasn't in my crew. They stole the wheel from me and got the ship sunk. I was really really mad. Before the updates last night, people couldn't get on a ship without crew invite, which was a new patch installed the previous night.

Anyone else had this problem?

DrStinglock 05-02-2008 06:55 AM

Not yet, one thing though.

Your ship? You should have master control of the wheel.
Even if someone is on the wheel, you should be able to take it back seeing as your the owner of it.

But you're saying he took the wheel away from you and you couldn't get it back? that sounds rather serious.

I agree, I was on my ship and a guildee TPd to me. She wasnt in the crew, but I was glad she came. I think we should have a yes or no button for people to TP. Clear the problem up once and for all. Not just on ships but on land.

I agree that is a serious problem, and you think thats bad. was helping friends tonite with a boss battle for there son, and we had a great captain, but we were short a few people for cannons, so someone invited a "friend". All rules were laid out before going to the battle, including WHO the captain was. We get into battle, and the captain we decide on, gets to the wheel, and someone took the wheel from him, needless to say we died, and this poor kid does not get to win,and there was no reason for that. So after we all end up in jail, the person who grabbed the wheel, laughed and left.

I have not had anyone get on my ship but someone that was in my crew and friend list people can to. On my list that is. I had people screaming at me cause I was on somone elses ship and they wanted on lol. Its great if it works like this all the time.

I agree with Angel's post regarding having an option to deny other players the ability to tp to you. Especially the "new friends" that just try to stick to you like glue. There are times when I want to do things with a group and times when I want to play by myself. You all know the satisfaction you have when you board a high level flag ship alone and win it. I seriously would like a "Walk the Plank" to boot people off who have boarded uninvited. Maybe with the added penalty of making them swim to shore. ;)

Dont feel so bad about the Boss battle Kate, its a "neigh impossible feat" to beat now. Using all the skills I have and a full crew of high lvl cannoneers, we still sunk at the last bridge. The LF's and bridges just do way too much damage.

I agree with the YES/NO option on TP's. I get so many former friends TPing to me when I am in mid battle and then rep steal from me by "helping" me to kill the baddie.

I say Former friends cos they don't always stay on my list after that.

Soul Patch The Fiesty 05-02-2008 02:33 PM

It's not only your crew, it's friends list as well, so time to clean out your friends list. Otherwise don't be surprised if you get someone firing your cannons!

LoL I'm that way now, too. I have/had a few that would TP to me the second I signed on if they were on, and visa versa; some would only do it when I got on my ship (like they were watching for the little boat to appear next to my name). It's not fun to feel like they're stalking you... :psmiley27:

I'm pretty hesitant to friend someone now...I really only do it if I've been sailing with them for a while. But, if they start that TPing without asking nonsense, they're gone (I actually now whisper that warning to them if I accept...so far so good).

I am happy to help them, though, if they ask. :)

I did have 2 guys that I crewed with so they can jump on my shi. That I dont mind but when they do it uninvited it urks me

skatardrummer 06-20-2008 08:04 PM

Yeah, he took the wheel and I couldn't get it back.

Kate what you describe sounds almost identical to a boss battle I crewed in a couple weeks ago with the exception that we didn't get sunk. We had a crew member aboard who none of us knew very well who grabbed the wheel before our captain could get to it. We were only able to take out half the bridges because this guy raced the ship down the middle and out of the harbor. We sunk the Goliath but this creep grabbing the wheel cost the person who we were helping a lot of experience points. Most of us in crew were high levels representing several guilds all of us decided that this guy who took the wheel would never sail or crew with any of us again.

As to the people teleporting onto the ship and trying to take over its been quite a while since this has been a problem for me. I don't tolerate people teleporting to me without first asking permission. If someone on the friends list does this I give them one warning and if they do it again they are off my friend list.
