Possible ship vs. ship PVP!
 

Guys, not even kidding, if you press down the squiggly line (on POTCO) which is this:

It comes up with something saying ship, score, and bounty. That may be a hint for ship vs. ship PVP to come!

Also keep in mind, you don't do it in chat, you hold it down while the chat box is closed. I know it's not just me because my guildie did it and it came up too.

Does it acually work? Can you battle other people? I'd REALLY, REALLY like this.

It looks like the story is going to revolve around a territorial dispute between the Spanish and the French...and Jolly Roger.

Yea, the concept art of French vs Spainish skeleton ships, meaning, you'll pick Spainish or French, turn undead, and have ship vs ship pvp. Also as a bonus, Davy Jones and the Kraken are confirmed by the LEAD DEV to be added to the game at an unspecified time (probably June update though). So welcome, ship to ship pvp and davy jones and the kraken! I hope kraken happen randomly at sea . . . just pop out (you know, probably 4 different levels, increasing in size, giving different rewards . . . they could still contain chests, as I suppose they could have eaten them when they ate other ships on the sea . . . . plus they can be a new task requirement (kill # of medium size kraken).

I still want to see undead flag ships though, and new ships available in general.

Yeah, it's definitely looking like the first pass at ship-to-ship PvP is going to be heavily tied to some sort of mini-game concept, and so far only the Spanish and French are included in the form of the two NPCs involved in the concept (plus whatever Jolly Roger's involvement ends up being).

Personally, I hope they keep the sea monsters hidden until encountered, and most common in Uncharted Waters (sort of a "past here be monsters" feeling).

I hope Davy Jones will be a major end event. Possibly a named Kraken as a mini boss before that. By named I mean, have a sea full of 'immature kraken' or something, then as a mini boss event, you fight The Kraken, or have people in pubs around towns talk about a monster Kraken and give it some cheesy name, like whatever that catfish in the Simpsons was that homer spent all dat catching. Then you fight that, leading up to the next step of taking on Davy Jones, hopefully a multi ship event, where you bring a fleet to take out a fleet, and eventually board a gi-normous ship to fight maybe say 20 pirates (5 boats of 4 people, 1 capt'n, 3 crew) vs between 33-40 high end whoever, after they are all dead, Maybe 6 higher level things + plus lvl I dunno, for right now, 55 or so Davy Jones. I mean, there will be 20 or so people there. This would REQUIRE people to heal, someone to be the main damage taker so that healers can heal just one person. And have other people dealing with a few other guys while trying to keep Davy from killing everyone on board. Just my 2 gold worth of thoughts.

Love that idea SPtF. Cant wait to see the new ideas coming for the future.
