Captain Montrose...
 

I am 99% done with the quest but I have one problem..I can't seem to find Captain Montrose from the Navy frigate, and I have sunk like 6 of them from Panthers to centurions to Man-o-wars....The problem I am having is that it doesn't even say not found or anything to do with the quest when I do sink one, is this a glitch? I hope not cause I want to do the Boss Battle soon... I haven't tried rebooting the game yet I am hoping that that will fix it...

I think I remember having to sink upwards of 15 ships before I got him. Keep at it!

Yea, it was 10-12 ships for me.

Yes - in this case (and a few others) sinking the first ship does not count (or give) the Quest item - everyone thinks it should though (because early in the game any ship quest tends to give it to you on the first ship sunk).

You may need to sink many, many ships... which at this point in the game is all about your sailing and cannon levels in prep for the boss battle.

I myself am not sure if the *quest item not found* thing isnt showing up. The best thing to do until u find out is to keep sinking ships, good money anyways.

I'm pretty sure I had to switch servers for it to work; it wasn't showing me the "not found" deal either.

Although perhaps not usually required, it may help to make sure that you are "tracking" the story quest, and not some other side quest. This might help resolve the issue of being notified as you fulfill (or do not fulfill) the quest goal. And as mentioned previously, you gotta find Montrose, keep sinking ships! :)

Yeah I logged back in and the first Panther I sank gave me the Cap thanks all for the prompt response....

I got him my third light frigate

I got him after I killed 1 panther.. my friend his second panther
