Test Release Notes - April 24 2008
  • Added quests for level 4 weapon upgrades for Sword, Pistol, Dagger, Voodoo Doll and Voodoo Staff. Quests for each weapon will automatically appear in your journal when you reach level 15 Notoriety for that weapon.
  • Fixed a crash on the TEST server that was occurring when sailing near a Navy ship that was sinking.
  • Added an "inventory" to tattoos so you don’t have to remove a tattoo to buy a new one. Tattoos are now similar to clothing and jewelry - you can buy several and "wear" them whenever you want.
  • Adjusted the crew bonus so it only applies to players within your general vicinity. The distance is about as far as you can see another player.
  • Fixed a bug that was causing numbers for the crew bonus to be displayed incorrectly. The actual notoriety being rewarded was correct, but the amount displayed was too high. These are now in sync.
  • Fixed a bug that was causing a large loading chug when getting near an island on a ship.
  • Fixed several bugs in the wording of the new quests.
  • Fixed a bug in Basic Access mode that was causing an 'Upgrade Now' popup to appear every time you defeated an enemy, if you were carrying a blocked quest.
  • Adjusted the crew searching feature, so that if multiple crews are found, it will try to match you with the captain closest to your level.

grrr me no like this bc when u have a crew of 8 less rep per guy but then it makes it up by giving u 100% more rep @_@ which in turn woudl equate back to the regular rep anyway lol :laughks2:

Ahoy, mateys! I've started on 3 of the new weapons quests so far (cutlass, dagger and doll) and, from the looks of things, they are going to be very long and fairly challenging.

For example, the doll quest starts the way the staff quest ends -- i.e. kill something on every island -- while an early task on the cutlass quest involves sinking at least 15 Corvettes, 10 Marauders and 5 Barracudas. And the dagger quest is asking me kill 10 Dread Scorpions. 10 LV15+ Skeletons, 5 Giant Crabs and more -- using only my dagger (which is a pretty cool requirement, imo).

As I said, these are all early tasks -- only 4-5% through the quest -- so who knows what else is in store? But it's a promising start.

Will we have to start new pirates to take advantage of these?

Zeppers lvl 40 - All mastered but lvl 21 cannons
Groggy McJones lvl 26 - All weapons quest/tp quest finished - avoiding story quest

My Test pirate is Level 30. Upon logging in last night, the new quests automatically appeared in my journal for each of my Level 15+ weapons. (FYI, I don't have the store-bought "upgrades" for most of them, so that's not a factor either.)

All the quests began with standard instructions, such as "Go see Tia Dalma" or "Visit Will Turner", etc. I started 3 of them and, once I saw how long & involved they were, decided I'd hold off on the 4th (pistol) for now.

Knowing that the new quests were coming soon and that I had 4 eligible weapons over Level 15, I'd been careful not to fill my journal up with other quests for the past week. I didn't want to take the chance that my journal wouldn't have room for them when they finally appeared.

Everything sounds interesting so far. Cant wait to have them hit open. one thing I would like to see is the Tattoo thing where you can store them......can we get the same for hairdos? I wouldve loved to kept my green hair, but when i changed styles I lost it. Also, having to pay $700 to put my hair in a ponytail?!? $500 to pull out the scrunchie?!? OMG please!

GOOD NEWS. THE UPDATES R COMING SOON TODAY!!!!!!!!!!(screen shakes)!!!!!!!! LETS HEAR IT!!!!! It has to be the only reason y its not working.
