Maximvs Music Video - Welcome To The Jungle

Prelogue:

So, though I don't know much about Graphics and Pics - I actually am quiet handy wit Video :) Before my adventure in POTCO I played Roller Coaster Tycoon for a time, and it had excellent options and built in AVI creator to create clips. Using a bit of Imagination and Windows Movie Maker I assembled several Music Videos out of that game. POTCO of course though - has no option - so I had to learn a bit about Video Capturing tools and how to capture live from the game... so lets see how it went...

Presenting...

"Welcome To The Jungle" In POTCO

EDIT: It is with great sadness I report this video was finally removed on You Tube. Feel free to PM me for information.

I hope you enjoy the Video, and feel free to come back here and leave a post.

Enjoy :)

Awesome video! Did you get a huge lag after from taking the video while playing?

Maximvs 04-19-2008 05:58 PM

Actually - it was better than I expected Norries - then again now that I can use my 512MB card with the game (which for the first five months would not work... bah) I think made a big diffrence (I wouldn't wanna try it with my older card I had to use for so long....)

The only tricky part was the rendering "after" I'd take a shot - the game would lag during that time (CPU load Way Up) so I kind of had to be sure to end the scene in a safe place :) During the shooting / recording itself though - it wasn't an issue. :)

Great video and awesome timing. Especially love the "money" part with the card table and the "sexy girl" portion with Scarlet. Only part that dragged on a little was the Night sailing segment. Overall, a great video. I look forward to seeing the next one!

Loot Hard!

Yea - I was kinda stuck there... I wanted the show the "coming off the high" being all 'fluffy easy sailing getting two easy Bulwarks' to 'now your in *beep* with three ghosts ships and two EITC chasing ya!!! HAHAHA! (woah - carried away there)'

The song kinda drags there no matter what game I've put the music to - espically since the song itself is fast paced except for that one section.. so I could of tried three / four angle splits I guess to mix it up a bit more - but I'm just leaning this capture program *shrug eh -hehehe* :)

I got some trial days left... I might have time to get one or two more in before it expires... :)

I have been wanting to do this for our guild but I didnt know you could use Windows movie maker. I thought you had to have a software screen recorder program in order to do this. Any tips? LOL. Anyways, great video and great music. Thanks so much I enjoyed it very much. Kani

Alot of people have said to use Fraps. Ive tried it and cant get it to work for me...maybe someone else can chime in on this.

BTW, just watched it and that was great!! Loved the ending where the stump killed u.......hahaha, perfect ending!

Maximvs 04-29-2008 06:10 PM

Yea - it was a good ending :) Espically since he just walks away like nothing happened....

I used Camtasia to capture the video (30 day trial has no overlay text) were when I went to get Fraps it says it puts a "overlay logo" on it (which I didn't want - but Camtasia is not easy to use... and I didn't do any editing there. Just captured - exported to avi.

I theen took all my AVI pieces in Windows Movie Maker - which I used al lot for other games with built-in avi creation and pieced it there (I'm sure Camtasia could blow away WMM, but RL just doesn't allow me the time to learn it). Placed the clips down, the movie tracks down and a few snips, a beggining and endsing and voila :)

Before Camtasia's trial ends I hope to try to do one more... no promises though as I'm also in the middle of building a Pool / Deck and contractors / builders / RL stuff is taking a LOT of my time now...

Good Video!

Maximvs 04-30-2008 02:36 AM

Just a thanks to everyone whos enjoy the vid :) I noticed the thread has been 'banished' (moved) to a forth level unknown area LOL so I hope any other creations don't get lost when I make them... but I'm still hoping for one more...

We've been running a Poll on my Guild Site for the folks, looks like I'll try to squeeze it in somewhere in the next few days. I might just go crazy and take enough footage that I can maybe create a few more down the road after the Camtasia trial is over (but its compression avi ratio is BAD!!!!!! it eats HD space like it made of chocolate candy or something LOL) so we will see...

Till then - thanks :) glad you are all enjoying the vid :)
