Black Pearl Quest Warning
 

If you are at the point where you need to capture the Black Pearl, and you help someone else finish their quest, your quest will be marked complete, even if you are not the one who initiated the final battle.

I finished mine last night. My wife was helping, and she was at the final stage, too. When we finished, hers was also marked complete, even though I was the one that initiated it.

This is not necessarily a bad thing, but it's something you should be aware of.

I wonder though, does completing the Boss Battle before completing the quest cause you not to be able to finish the quest? I had already finished the quest before I went with a group of players to the Boss Battle.

No. The guy we had helping us wasn't at the final stage, and his wasn't marked complete.

Ahh, that's good. Get a little experience before completing the quest, then go back knowing what to expect.

Also, if you start the quest and your crew finished without you (cause you get booted) you still gain credit for the quest. I got robbed of the glory for Hunters on that behalf.

What do u get for finishing the quest?

2k notoriety for the quest, 2K from turning it in to Jack, a skill unlock for sailing (no skill point, but the skill is auto-unlocked. A medal (iirc) and told to master your pirate and weaponry. This is only if its your boss battle. If youve already completed it, or its not time for the boss yet, you just get the adventure.

I went on monday nite to Boss Battle two times, and won. Tuesday I happened to finish the quest, and had to do The Battle, mine was not marked completed. Even though I had happened to do it twice the nite before.

i have a question becasue one of our guild mates is having this apparently she finished the boss battle BEFORE it went down in december now that it is re-released she cant get the new skill has anyone else had this problem?

After trying to beat the Boss battle on my own, I am in need to finding a group who wants to complete it. You would not believe how hard it is finding people who want to complete it by asking around at the docks.

I found a GREAT group! This was my lucky weekend! :) yay!

Now that bites... I wasnt around then, the skill was noticed by everyone (before they reopened the boss battle) as new and they were wondering how one got it.

I think I would contact live chat support and submit a bug report (im sure they'll ask for one) and see if they can help out. You'd think they could grant a player who earned it, the skill if they did not have it.
