What does gold spade mean?

Can anyone tell me what the gold spade with circle around around it that appears in front of different players for every hand of poker signifies?

Thanks :)

That is the "button". Betting and play begins clockwise of where the button sits. It will move to the next clockwise player on the next hand. Hope this answers your question.

basically showing where the betting started means nothing more than a marker

Uh-huh - That's right - What they said - Ditto

LOL just for u EtM :) But as they said, thats the "dealer" button. Part of the small blind/big blind of Holdem. If youve never played Holdem in person, its not easy to understand.

Shhhh... Don't make me laugh like that while I'm not working at work. People start to think I enjoy my job too much. :)
