Dialup

I'm not sure if this has been asked. But I was wondering whether it's advisable for POTCO to be played on a dialup connection. I'm trying to get my bf to play but he only has dialup. Does anyone here play on dialup? What are your experiences?

i doubt it will work with dial up and if it does it will be really slow potco hardly even works with fast computers and high speed internet so for it to work with dial up is very slim

i would highly doubt it would work well, if at all. The minimum system requirements, as outlined by D, is as follows:

PC
---
Windows 2000, XP, Vista
800 MHz or faster processor
512 MB RAM
32 MB 3D graphics card
DirectX 9 or better
700 MB free disk space
Broadband Connection

Mac
---
OS 10.4.6 (Tiger)
PowerPC G4 or any Mac with any Intel processor
512 MB RAM
700 MB free disk space
Broadband connection

Loot Hard!

Hey now. It's not advisable, but it's possible. I've got dial up. It's not that bad.
Is your boyfriend much of a computer person? Ask him if he thinks his dial up modem is good, considering what it is. If the connection is fairly stable and doesn't disconnect often with no warning, and goes as fast as he thinks dial up can just browsing the internet... It should work.
I have two computers I play Pirates on. One hardly ever disconnects. Loading is a little slow, but it's all good. Howeverrr, I can't sail on the other computer without disconnecting, because the modem is..crud. It's all in the modem. But despite what Disney says, Pirates will work with dial up.
Anyways, have him create a free account and try it out. I'd really recommend copying your Pirates files onto a flash drive or CD to let him borrow and paste to his computer, though. Downloading Pirates takes at least 6 hours with dial up. The Pirates folder is at "C:/Program Files/Disney/Disney Online" by default.
Ergg.. Hope I helped.

yea it might be possible but you would encounter lots of lag, crashes, and more lag might not be able to sail, or go to certain islands. like Eustace posted Big D's Minimum Requirements clearly state for Mac and PC you need a Broadband Connection
