Recruiting for Rums Ahoy
 

Greetings High Seas adventurers. I have been charged with recruiting for our fairly new guild "Rums Ahoy" and would like to extend an invitation for those with the following qualifications:

• Fun-loving - No stick-in-the-mud types
• Helpful - Willing to help lower level members
• Consistantly Online - More twice per week
• Interactive - Likes to communicate with other members
• Mature - We have no room for bickering
• Considerate - Be thoughtful of your guildmates

We also do require that you be an unlimited user (paid account) and be at least level 7 (Which takes all of 2 hours hacking and slashing guards and cadets at max). Tough qualifications to meet, huh? Well, if you really think that, I'm sure one of those 500+ guilds will have an opening for ya. Now, a little about the guild:

Rums Ahoy was created on March 9th by Kate McGrim, after she became disenchanted with her prior guild for many reasons. Kate's vision was to create a friendly, tight-knit guild that would follow basic rules of etiquitte and would have the type of members that would not tarnish the guild's name. With a current membership of 23 members, it is one of the smaller guilds, but as this posting shows, we are looking to expand. Rums Ahoy is looking to plan events in the near future, where high and low level players, alike, can enjoy interracting with their guildmates (PvP, Quest Assists, Island Storming, etc).

We will be utilizing DXD and a Guild Website (under construction), as well as the POF forums here, to discuss a range of topics, receive input from those who play at odd hours from the bulk of the guild, schedule events, and much more.

About our staff:
As previously mentioned, our guildmaster is Kate McGrim, whom many of you may know. She has just finished mastering her Voodoo Doll, Level 31, and has made it to Level 15 for her Voodoo Staff. Willing to assist her members at any time, before her own needs or wants, she is a great leader of this helpful group. She is on vacation for the week, but any of her Officers will be able to assist your needs.

Officers:
Thomas Singedtimbers
Level 22 Oompa Loompa (If you can't find him while he is online, look down). Thomas is on at some of the more odd US hours and is an ideal assistant for mid-level quests that require backup healing, or tanking for L15's and lower. Thomas was the founding officer for Rums Ahoy and has been a great addition.

Eustace D'Monk
Yeppers, that's me. The guild calls me "The Glitchmaster" for obvious reasons (check out my Glitch of the Day" thread in the Screenshots section. I am currently Level 32 and just mastered my Voodoo Doll and made it to Staff 19. I am more than willing to tank for any quest you have (except for maybe something involving Tormentia as I have a hard time keeping myself alive in there). I am on, consistantly, but not continuously and can aid in anything you need. I have been, more or less, the Secretary of the guild, communicating and coordinating the needs of the guild to the guildmaster, and vice versa.

Basil Truebain
A lanky Level 25 Mate that loves sinking his ships (the enemy ships, not his own). Yesterday, alone, he sank 128 of them, without being on the "Sink 100 ships" quest. Always helpful and talkative, Basil has been a great addition to the guild and is usually available at late US hours.

Jack Seaeagle
Well, what can I say about Jack? He likes Jail? Well, maybe not, but he did drop in a good 14 times the other day. Jack is Level 25, and our newest Officer. Right now he is busy grinding dagger (oh how I hate blades) and is always ready to do things with his guildmates, whether it is sinking ships, storming Kingshead, or playing cards (yes, we do help guildmates with financial troubles this way).

That is basically who we are, and what we are looking for. If you feel you would like to be a part of our world within a world, feel free to PM me or find one of us, in game and we would be more than happy to have you aboard. Until then.

Just a few rules if you are interested......
Please be matture we really don't have time to deal with bickering while slicing undead in half.....we also glitch quiet a bit and would like to keep these within the guild....we help each other out....also must have fun...we do boat races within the guild and also against other guilds coming soon.

Please forgive the double post here, I just wanted to update and expand the main post to this thread and it didn't fit well with my previous post...

As Kate/Molly pointed out, we are not yet a monster guild. We have roughly 35 members now. We are actively seeking new recruits and try to keep the maturity level a little higher than most. The big difference is that we usually have someone online at all hours the server is running. On an average evening, we will see about 5-10 of our guildmates on and we are a very sociable lot (not sociopathic).

We have recently implemented the use of Ventrilo for the guild and have a paid hosting setup, which I can expand, as we get more people using it. For those that are unaware (though there have been numerous threads on the subject) Ventrilo is a voice communications system which is great for Team Gaming. Unfortunately D does not like us to give out the information on their server, so if you are a guild member, you will need to PM one of us to get the setup instructions. Everyone that uses it, thus far, has behaved in a mature manner. We will not tolerate topics that are not "family friendly" if minors are logged into the chat. We have a private channel for that. :D

Our guild is quite organized. We host many events like Boat Races, Fleet Plundering, Guild PvP, and Treasure Hunts to create a feeling of camaraderie within the guild (and those we compete against). Oh... The prizes help too. We have Officer Meetings at least once per week and hold actual elections for the staff positions. Of our officers, we usually have at least one online at all times.

The PiratesOnlineForums.com website is the primary point of communication for all events, scheduling, complaints, ideas, or questions. We will begin requiring all prospective members to have an account here, even if it is simply to lurk and communicate with the staff. Most decisions that the Officers and GuildMaster make are well thought out and considered, but we may not explore every caveat of an idea and often times ask for guild input about different subject. So, ultimately, the guild members, are not invisible space fillers like you may have experienced in other guilds.

We do have a few basic rules to the guild, that we feel are quite important and will not sway from them:

• Members must have unlimited status and be at least level 7 Notoriety.
• Members needing assistance with a quest or task must first try for themselves. If you are unable to complete it on your own, an officer or higher member will be more than happy to assist you.
• Maturity is a must. Please save your OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! for elsewhere. We understand excitement, but not the type that would make someone with ADD say "Dude, calm down."
• No bickering. We have no time to settle disputes (though we seldom see any). Fix the problem with on your own, in private, with the person. If we must intervene, each person involved will be given 5 minutes to state their case, then we will meet for a decision. All decisions made in regards to removing members are final.
• Glitching is our hobby. We love finding them and love exploring them. Any glitch you are shown by a member is not to be shared outside the guild. Yes, there are a few private ones we have reserved.
• Have fun! Believe it or not, this is a really important one to us. When someone is a downer, it tends to spread like a virus. If your glass is half empty, ask one of the officers and we'll fill it back up for you.
• Lastly, and most importantly, we will not tolerate any sort of slander or biggotry. Your personal opinons on race, creed, color, religion, orientation, gender, or political affiliation is your own and we wish for you to keep it that way. Any violation of this rule is grounds for immediate dismissal and reporting to D.

That is pretty much everything about us. As Kate/Molly mentioned, if you are interested in meeting with us and chatting about joining, PM one of us and we will be happy to meet up with you.

We came from the island of RUMrunner need i say more? we all like to have fun and parties!! oh undead parties are kewl... or shopping i love to shop! if you like to shop too lets get together eust is the bag boy! i've got empty pockets most of the time but i like to look at clothes....when i can't buy them....i have a no shoe policie

Hallo, pirates!

Both Kate and Eustace 'ave told yas about our guild, Rums Ahoy. They ain't lyin' when they say that we're a fun lovin' group of folks. Our pirates are always willin' ta offer a hand whether it be ta help with the plunderin' or the lootin' or just plain makin' mayhem. Do consider joinin' us!

Oh, one last thing: Until the risk of contagion passes :::glances at Eustace and Kate::: please remember ta scrub up and wear yer rubber gloves. Ain't no tellin' how that dang Ban gets spread about.

Basil Truebane
Officer of Rums Ahoy but just barely in charge of himself

The guild is great. full of surprises at every turn when playing with this lot. Watch out for Kat, she's finds herself in trouble with palm tree's.

Seems i'm the unofficial younger brother to Basil. Poor guy, barley in charge of himself and he's got me running around. -grin.-

As said before, we are also lending a hand, or offering to do so. Look us up if you're having a problem. We're always around.

:BUDS:yup yup now just gotta get a way of not getting "the ban" for telling about the forums ingame.....lol :cries: i don't want the ban again ... i feel a lil faint though cya websites coming along very well anyone in guild having issues with vent there's a link now once you've joined that will explain how to do it :BUDS:

Ahoy! I think Doc Grog needs to have a remedy "quest" so that when you catch "the ban" you can drink the remedy and keep playing. :D
