Cursed wood/skeleton ship

I bet this has probably been asked before so I apologise beforehand. But I was wondering how to sink these ships with my light sloop? Is it possible? Should I buy a new ship? Or tag along with someone who has a more powerful ship? Do I have to be the one steering the ship in order to acquire the cursed wood?

Thanks for your help guys!

i dont think its possible. depending on how good you are on cannon, stay far away and try or have one person with you. but if you can buy new do it or ride with someone

try and get a person who is a high lvl cannon or u can simply jus get ur cannon up..
stay far away...from the ship and shoot and it should come to you, so you have plenty of time to do it

or you can use ur ship to go behind the ship and broadside, tilting your ship so it alighns the bak of the ship, do it with the other broadside..

Yes, you can solo them, but stick to the Phantoms. Best way is to zoom out your compass all the way. When the entire ship is within the compass by 2 widths, it is within broadside range. Fire L, turn while stationary, fire right, raise sails and distance again, repeat. It is more difficult to take down frigates this way (Front guns), but it is still possible.

As mentioned, you merely need to be on someone's ship and hit one with a single cannon shot to get credit for the sink, and possibly your wood. So try to crew up with someone who is sailing out of Padres and chances are that you will be sinking some undead vessels. Happy sailing.

Okay, it's do-able BUT in a light sloop it's VERY difficult and takes a long time.

You can do the chase and run as described below. Or, if you can get in right behind them, you can rock the ship side to side and alternate broadsides into the ship's rear.

I've taken out warships in a light sloop this way. I REALLY don't recommend trying it unless you're really desperate or have a really big brass pair (and I'm not talking treasure). Needless to say, one screwup and you're swimming home.

just add a bit, the skele ships have no front guns..but yeah the other frigates do.

And if the ship is coming straight for u, then just wait until its completely inside the compass before using broadsides. I ussually use lightning shot to hit ships from afar and then just shoot them as they slowly inch towards me.

Ya, but if he is in a light sloop, chances are, he does not have Lightning.

I know, I just wanted to give his hopes up. Muahahahahahaha! U can also shoot beyond the compass with round shot, but its difficult to hit your target. But thats how I leveled up my cannon. I never went to anyones ship but my own until I joined my guild. It was at lv 11 when that happened. And I never let anyone drive my ship... unless I can trust them. And I can only trust people in my guild so far.

Haha, thanks guys. I managed to join someone's crew but I'll keep these tips in mind next time. ;)

Be really nice to a high level player and follow the rules on his ship, and he might just hunt down anything you need.

I got no problem taking people on my ship that need to sink something, so long as they obey the Captain.

Why is it they forget this part so often?
