Skill Point Question
I've made my newest pirate with the intention of doing as little of the Pearl Quest as possible, just doing weapon work and TP quests for now, in hopes of not having to grind so much to get my weapons leveled.
My question is this: At what level do you stop adding skill points to your weapons so you can keep the rep high? Once your weapons reach lev 10? 8? 15? I know that spending skill points will eventually lower my rep, so if anyone has any tips, much appreciated :) |
What I'm doing:
If it's a damage-dealing skill that I want to start using, I'll put one point in it to unlock it, and save the rest for later. If it's a passive skill that doesn't increase your damage output, I'll put in more than one. Example: Endurance got 5 for that 125HP boost. This is just a rule of thumb, and there are exceptions. I put 2 points into Round Shot on cannon, for example. |
The prior post is a good answer. The less damage you generate per hit (one dot only) the more times you have to hit the enemy and the more rep you receive from it. As your Notoriety increases, you will automatically start losing rep due to the number of times they would need to hit you. The lowest damage/skill weapon you have at any given time seems to give you the most rep.
Right now, my PvPer is L15 with L16 Cuttlass and L13 Pistol only. Has not even gotten his doll yet. What it comes down to is how much work do you want to do to level any one given weapon. I am not even doing any part of the Pearl quest with my PvP pirate, because ANY additional rep gained from the quests will make it harder to level weapons. If you are eager to reach the ability to use any particular weapon, you could use the quests to reach that level, because it generates the easiest rep. One day, I may have to get him above 18 rep in sailing, but for now... Only pistol and cuttlass. Loot Hard! |
Thanks! So basicly, unlock a damage skill, then leave it alone. Got it.
My lev 32 pirate is havin a bugger of a time gaining any rep, so I figured I've give this way a try :) |
I gotta agree wth them. Unloick but leave the damage as low as possible. I think Hunter has somewhat of the range of 25 skill points saved for all her weapons. Also lvl them evenly! It works alot!
