question about rules

well i was reading through the rules and such of potco. when me and a crew were on a ship, a guy reported my friend for saying the word "noob"...

. is that word considered against the rules?
. if he was reported ( for lets say anything bad ), what are the consiquences?
. and how long would it take for him to find out when/what he would have as a punishement?

in the old game i played called "runescape" if someone was reported for something, the game company would send in a list of things he did wrong, and would have a chance to appeal it...does POTCO have that option? or is it a
""mess up, and your banned"" kind of thing

Dunno about saying the word "noob" but I just got suspended (72 hours) for trying to log into my account at the same time with 2 pirates... (seperate computers obviously lol) :sadmh9:

Angel 03-26-2008 07:19 AM

Wait, u got suspended fr loggin on with 2 pirates?!? Wow since when is that against the rules? And if so why is it they have the option to link accounts so you can do that? Definately call and complain.

However to reply to the OP's question....NOOB is not a bad word. If anything he will get a warning email saying "If its not allowed in grade school, its not allowed here". If they do go back and check the chat log and see something worse, then he could be suspended for 72 hrs. Ive never heard of anyone who was able to get that lifted prior to the 72 hrs no matter how much they talked to someone. Speakin from experience here. I was banned for sayin I live in CA....quite a large state!!!

Angel, you can link up 2 accounts? What if one is not unlimited? I am curious to know how that works... PM me please. :)

And yes, that has to be what I got suspended for, I haven't done anything else. I just went to my other puter and tried to login my other pirate on my account. This was yesterday morning about 3am PST.

Samantha Wildhound 03-26-2008 07:46 AM

weird..i tried logging in with both mine (sep laptops) and never got banned.

just told me i was signed out because i logged in elsewhere.

if noob is against the rules..i got alot of time owed to me i guess then :(

not trying to jinx myself either..but ive mentioned alot of things i probably shouldnt have, and once yeah i did give my mail and vice versa (he got banned i didnt)

so i dunno.

I've tried to log in on the same account from two machines before, by accident.

It logged off the person on the other account.

No other problems, no bannination, no nothin.

My wife and I have linked accounts. Only my account has unlimited access. Her's is not.

However she can play any pirate on my account by logging onto her own account. So the pirate has to be created on my account, but she can log in with her account to play it. At the pirate selection screen you will see left and right arrows. That will allow you to page through all the other accounts you are linked to.

This saves us some money by not needing two separate unlimited access accounts.

The only limitation here is that we can only have 4 pirates between the two of us.

I'll have to look up how I did this. Its been awhile.

I PM'd him with the info.

Voski 03-26-2008 08:57 PM

What .. wait .. I say way worse things than noob. How will you know if you get reported?

Chris 03-26-2008 09:23 PM

you dont :p well u dont know until u go to log on u get "you have been banned for __ for __________________________________________________ _"

to answer his question which no one has answered yet O_o no there is no warning its u messed up no u are banned there is no parole

Eustace the Monk 03-26-2008 09:24 PM

Awww... I wanted to answer that one. You answered it the way I wanted too anyway, Chris.

Loot Hard!

Chris 03-26-2008 09:27 PM

lol sorry .-. beat ya buy a whole minute!

i just noticed that post times are fixed

David 03-29-2008 05:36 PM

ok so if you can get banned for 72 hours...can you ever get permantely banned for something?

Stripedfermata 03-29-2008 09:11 PM

You may get banned permanently for multiple offenses. Other than that, I'm not really sure.

Smash 03-30-2008 12:16 AM

I don't think it'd be that easy to get banned.. doesn't the chat block out a lot of words? Other than the chat, there isn't much you could do that would be bad.. =/
