OK just got my invite today. Got on. Been playing for a couple hours and quit because i can't stand it, THE LAG IS HORRIBLE!!! i can barely move. i can't do hardly anything it gets to like less than one frame per second and im going to go insane. i keep getting kicked off and i cant get newhere!!! has anyone experienced this?@!?! :mad:

Try rebooting. It helps me since I jump games platforms back and forth.

You can't expect it will be perfect in beta. They let people in so they can see if the server/other things will work before the release it. Although I don't have a beta key, you just need to give it some time. The lag I'm sure will be much better later on.

I would try restarting your computer.
That may do the trick.

OK restarted computer and tirned all of the graphical options to the minimal and its still laggy, and i don't mean a twitch every couple of seconds... i mean like every 5 seconds the game stops for 10 seconds and this is not an exxagerration...

I agree. My computer acts the same way. I didn't even figure out how to talk yet :o ! I try to keep nothing else running except the POTCO game and it lessens the lag.

This is BETA TESTING meaning, if you read the message you got in the E-mail, there will be lag, bugs, glitches, etc. So just be patient its in BETA TESTING! LOL

I cant say i've experienced lag per say. It does sometimes though spike and I get kicked, but atleast we have keys to get (back) in. :P

Sometimes the lag is bad and not so bad.

Is there a place where we can discuss the game and problems without getting into trouble?

Actually I think its more like alpha testing. Games that I have tested before being a person who signed up and got into the beta, I have not seen a game with so much lag and I do not normally experience lag on other games. This game is horribally laggy and my computer nearly freezes up completely when I try to fight someone in a swordfight.

When you get stuck, simply teleport back to the island you were on. Teleporting when in the sea sometimes gets your legs stuck in the sand, though.

And to boot it's the start of OPEN BETA which means they just flooded their test servers with a ton more users.

Im not so sure it will pass. Im sorry, but this game is made and brought to us by the same people who made and run toontown. I wonder if LAG is just what Disney does. I understand the concept of BETA, but this is just beyond normal lag and stuff. I am super frustrated. Everything the original poster said is my situation too. Closing and rebooting..****..that alone is tough to do as my computer seems to hate this game. It takes like 6 minutes! I have 5 people I know who also have keys and are playing, all from tt and we all are very disappointed. I cant even comment on the fun aspect of the game, because I have barely been able to do anything. I have already heard the usual comments I got from tt. "update your graphics card" blah blah blah. Sorry, but there are other games out there like WOW that I play and lag isnt even a issue. They have major work to do.

A couple of comments... You may understand the concept of a BETA but you don't get it... A BETA rarely runs as well as open code does for a number of reasons, including but not limited to the fact that debug code is all over the place, they haven't optimized their servers, they haven't implemented all the servers...

Yeah I'm fairly certain we're not getting the concept of what a BETA is or is for... It's not a playability beta it's them letting you on to test get free testing from people excited about their game so they don't have to pay people to test it. And since we're in open beta it means there are a lot of these people doing the same thing you are on code that's still being tested on servers which are still being tested.

I've seen betas go from totally terrible response times in game to fantastic releases (WoW being a prime example) in under 4 weeks (the normal time I've seen open betas last).

If they've told you to update your graphics card/driver have you considered rolling back to an earlier driver? Who told you? Was it the development team? Did they actually know what a graphics card was and what driver the software requires... or at least has been tested on for your card?

Beta is Beta, if you can't hack the lag, the constant server resets and the buggy code, don't participate in beta tests... wait for open and then when you're paying you can complain.

I agree, lag is terrible, but remember when VMK DC'd you every hour?
