Looking for another direction with POTCO closing?

With the closing of these various Disney games.
Kings Isle Entertainment recently announced the following offer for anyone interested in playing Wizard101, or Pirate101.

Not trying to push those games, to each their own, but wanted to share the special offer they setup for those losing their favorite games.

We want people to know there are other safe places where they can play online with their friends and families, and this is why we’re welcoming you with open arms to not only what we feel are worlds full of amazing adventure with family-friendly surroundings that you’re used to, but also awesome places for you to group up with new and old friends alike in fun adventures you've never experienced before!

We’re happy to see you. You’re going to love it here!

From now through September 30, 2013, use the code “Welcome2KI” and you will save 50% OFF of your first month of membership to one of our games. In short, we can’t wait to see you.

Such a generous move by Kingsisle. They're great guys.
I am a player of both Wizard101 and Pirate101. Been playing Wizard101 for a few years and Pirate101 since the beta first was available.
It's nice to know that they hear our cry and are willing to give a hand. I will admit, though, that some may not feel the same playing either of those games as they would playing POTCO. POTCO has such a charm to it that can't seem to be matched.

Just downloaded Pirate101 to check it out. It seems pretty cool. :)

I'll be going in the direction of Pirates of the Burning Seas. I'm going to be continuing Lion Hearted Pirate, and I've made a Captain And clone named Cap'n Andy. Maybe I'll check out pirates 101, but PotBS is much more likely at this point.

Honestly, I played PotCO because of the the movie characters. It wasn't strictly a pirate thing, for me, it was that world they created, based on the movies, that I love so much. I tried Pirates of the Burning Seas, but Caribbean Thunder pounded that nail right square on the head - PotCO has a charm that can't be matched.

I've been playing Perfect World. It's a free-to-play and I like it a lot. A well-rendered world, that's many times larger than PotCO and there's weekly maintenance and ongoing content update. No, there are no charming rogues like Captain Jack and Barbossa. But I suppose it will have to do, now.
