They still ban you

even though they are shutting the game down, I've been banned for 3 days so what I dont care, if disney don't care neither do I

Here's what was said

We have banned your account based on the personally identifiable information found within your chat log attached to your account, shown below:

August 22, 2013 8:12:18 AM PDT : POTCO is far more popular than Club Penguin, only today have the numbers risen by 87,000
August 22, 2013 8:12:43 AM PDT : Check out Alexa.com
August 22, 2013 8:14:04 AM PDT : second life is an adult dating game. POTCO NEEDS TO BE SAVED
August 22, 2013 1:59:32 PM PDT : Club Penguin popular rating 1,273 POTCO popular Rating 123, 749
August 22, 2013 2:23:21 PM PDT : email the president of America via this link http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/

Thank you for writing in with your concerns. I can confirm discussing any other website while in game is against the rules for the safety of all our players, as this is a children's website.

When it comes to websites that are not affiliated with us; we are unable to ensure the website being mentioned is safe. This being said, we never want our players redirected to potentially harmful websites.
Basically they're saying alexa.com and the web address for the president of the United States of America are unsafe

The Cartoon Network website is a safe website.
So is Jumpstart. And last I checked, Google is pretty much safe.
That doesn't exactly mean that Disney will simply allow players to post the direct links to such sites in the in-game chat.
Even if you posted the link to this very website, the official POTCO forums, you would still be liable for such a ban. They do allow the word "POForum/s," but that is it. Blatantly putting "http://www.piratesonlineforums.com/" in the in-game chat is not allowed.
Just because it is the end of the game, does not mean you are simply given a free pass to break some rules of the game. Those rules would still be in effect until the end.

Yes, the game is ending. But as I care for the game, I am still going to follow the rules.

(I do not mean for my post to sound rude if it does. I just wished to reinforce the point and the reasoning for the ban. I hope you see my point)

I don't find it rude. Doesn't make sense to break the Code just because its all shutting down. Even if you follow the Code, certain legitimate activities aren't worth wasting your time with. These are the times to enjoy things long taken for granted, long neglected or dismissed offhand. Why risk what little time is left by breaking the Code? Show some class, Mate. Maybe they don't have any in your eyes. But you know the saying, "Two wrongs don't make a right".

Rise above them and hoist yer colours!

Now I have found the reason as to my ban, it apparently had nothing to do with the web addresses I put in, nor did it have anything to do with myself mentioning Club Penguin being better than POTCO, they admitted to me it was because I mentioned Second life.

Now when I mentioned it, it was in response to another player stating that they are going to go and download and play second life after potco closes, My response was to let them know what second life was and that according to disney was the reason as to why I got my 3rd Ban.

I am not surprised that you can still recieve bans in-game. I don't think the rules should slack just because the end is soon. I have caught a few rulebreakers on another Disney game since the closing of that game was announced, and I used my trusty report button every time. I have no idea if actions were taken against them, but the rule those rulebreakers have broken was very important and normally would result in serious consequences. I do hope there are still people behind the game to insure that no one would get away with those unacceptable actions.

Anyway, I am sorry you are banned, but you have to remember that this is a game with younger audiences. Though not as severe as some other Disney game I have played, but they still tend to be overprotective of their players. Some of the things you have said at the time could be considered as advertisement when misinterpreted. You never have any idea that who is behind the screen, and I know I would not want my kids to see that and misinterpret your intents (That is... If I have any kids, of course.). Please keep that in mind the next time.
