Poisoned while sailing?

Anyhow I have a question concerning sailing in POTCO. I have been sailing around defeating ships for a quest, and I noticed that whenever I used, Take Cover, Full Sail, or Ramming Speed, I get poisoned for about 5 seconds. Is this happening to anyone else? Is this common? I've just got back to this game a month ago, so a lot has changed.

Weird, I haven't seen anything like this before. It's probably a glitch, but maybe I just didn't notice it. O_o

Aye, this is a very common bug. It occurs whenever a person who has a weapon with poisoning, such as a Venomed Cutlass, draws that weapon at any time from logging in to setting sail (simply having it won't trigger it) and then uses those such sailing skills.

Things like that make me wonder how such a bug came about.

I've gotten wounded when I shoot cannons. Is that the same reason it's happening to me?

The poison bug affects everyone on board, not just the captain, if that's what you mean. Or if you're referring to being injured from using explosives while cannoning, if your captain is sailing too close to an enemy ship and you fire explosives at it, you can be wounded from the blast--knocked out, even. I don't believe that's a bug (though Will can correct me if I'm wrong since he's more of an expert at this stuff); it's just... being too close :p

That's actually not it at all. I was with 2 others on the ship and neither were wounded nor losing health like I was. I was wondering if it was the same because I got a new dagger (knives of the sun idol to be exact) and began leveling my dagger after I got them. It was after I had used them that I began losing health when I shot cannons.

Kind of like pumping a rocket launcher at a wall centimeters in front of you.

As for a wounding effect, that I'm not sure of, as I've not encountered that. But my guess may be along the lines of what MTN came up with. A cannonball (Roundshot, perhaps) you fired may have shattered the hull too close and the Shrapnel skill may have rubbed off on you, as Shrapnel leaves the wounding, I think. Although that's just my guess. Like I said, never ran into anything like that. Don't think the throwing knives would have anything to do with it, but considering the crazy things that happen in this game...

I don't think it could be that either, we weren't anywhere near the other ships. I think it's just another weird bug that Disney needs to fix.
