Where are YOU now?
I'm curious as to how many of us still play our beloved PotCO...
If you still do, what do you spend most of your time doing? If you don't, have you moved onto other games? If so, what? And what do you spend your time doing? I log into PotCO here and there, mostly playing WoW/GW2 now. I spend my time doing questing, and hanging out with my guildies! So far, I'm enjoying my time, lots to do, never ending exploration, and I love it! |
I've moved on. After my guild lost activity, there really wasn't very much left for me in this game, and since POTCO hasn't updated since, there isn't very much reason for me to consider going back. I play some other games, but I am not truly attached to any of them as I was to POTCO. I have; however, hit one of those points in life where you're too busy to do things such as play online games, so I don't really play any of them to a great extent.
I've popped on POTCO every so often, but usually don't stay online for more than a few minutes at a time. At most, I might go kill Darkhart a few times with a crude cutlass, just to try my luck (so far, I've had none). I doubt, as of now, that there will ever be a time that I can return to my favorite set of islands, sail my favorite seas, and pillage those foes that I fought against for over four years. But who knows? Anything can happen. ;) |
I am playing Team Fortress 2 and Free Realms. And waiting for any form of update whatsoever that isn't bug fixes.
|
Mostly moved on to other games, but I've decided to work on a new pirate as of late to take advantage of the Heart of Padres Del Fuego (that is, when the pirate is able to use it).
|
I've been on an extended leave of absence due to school and RL issues. Just came back a couple of times to see if any of my old mates were on--so far, not a one.
|
I have been tending to this thing called real life :D
|
Made several good friends over the year or so I was very active in the game. There came a point when almost no one got on anymore. Lost touch with most of the people I connected with outside of the game as well. Kind of sad, actually. I miss everyone.
|
It seems a large majority of the community has been dealing with real life over the past few months. I myself have been more active than I was a few months ago, even though I'm still a tad preoccupied, dealing with the Marine Corps. I just can't bring myself to leave this game. Thankfully I don't ship off to basic until August, so I'll be very active over the summer until then. :D
I'm working on rousing my guild from its wintry slumber, so even though I have been rather active recently... not many people have been online to see that. So I've mainly been spending my time looting or plundering on my own, or people watching at Abassa Tortuga. |
Ewwwww, Abassa.
Yeah, despite the server removal, it's still quite evident that the game's population is fairly lacking. But it works in my favor, as I do like to work/loot/level/etc. alone. Getting a solo Fleet is still impossible though, so I save that for Test. |
Ahh, Abassa. I logged on for the first time in a few weeks today, and decided to pop onto Abassa. Every time I've logged on since last summer, I'm fairly sure that it's been ideal. I haven't seen it full in a very long time. If that doesn't say something about the game's population, I'm not sure what does.
It still is, however, inhabited by PvP glitchers and other people of that sort. I suppose some things never change... |

And unfortunately yes, there are PVP glitch users. |

I dedicate this song though to all those who no longer sail her waters and have decided to stay at that mysterious spot in Cuba: Spoiler for Copacabana:
Cheers! |
I mostly play on Lord of The Rings Online and World of Tanks.
Though I show my weathered face in the Caribbean from time to time, I do not stay often. I miss the old days of Pirates... but the past is the past ;). The past is the past. the future is a mystery, so enjoy the present for it is a gift from above. :) LONG LIVE THE PIRATES! (Nice song mate ;) ) |
I'm glad to say I am where I want to be after pirating for 5 years and counting. In the islands and around the seas, making friends and helping others leveling, questing, SvSing, plundering, looting, etc. You name it, I think I've done it at least once or twice on all my countless pirates :laughks2: Don't get me wrong I have tried Lord of the Rings but it never captured me the same as PoTCo does. Others have tried to lure me over to WOW but I'm happy and content on Pirates. :pirate91:
I've seen people come and go, and return to visit once in a while. I've gone from a member to Senior Officer then a Co-Gm and finally as GM but these wouldn't matter much because it all boils down on how you see the game. I'm still learning new things and sharing them with friends, guildsmates and others. Most of all, it's the friendships (on and off game) I've forged through the years that's made it worth while logging on game on a daily basis whether it's on live or on test. :pirate31: Remember there's no straight and narrow way to play yer pirate- the possibilities are endless. Challenge yourself and change things up when it comes to leveling yer weapons and skills. Just because the game's telling you to get certain weapons doesn't mean you have to. Look at the game in a new perspective and you unlock an endless possibilities pirating adventures. I leave you with RP's Guild Song that sums up Pirates for me :buds: It's all about the adventure, friendships, and the memories you create along the way. Enjoy! Spoiler for Official Rat_Pac Theme Song:

Oh the memories of plundering and going to Isla Tormenta late at night to see what I might find. Those were good times indeed. I've been playing around on World of Tanks since I've taken a likeing to strategy games and such. What brings me back online every now and then to the game is my friends in my guild. And I can only hope Pirates Online gets a major makeover. Oh the feeling of nostalgia.
